Life Jackets

With summer about to begin people are already starting to go out boating or play in or around deep or fast moving water. Closely supervising children is of course a no-brainer (good swimmer or not). I know alot of mom's who have a hard time finding life jackets to fit young infants, where do you find these sizes? Toddler and small chilren's sizes are fairly easy to find. Also since adult safety is important too, what are some non-bulky options for adults. How about ones that allow alot of freedom of movment for activities such as canoeing and kayaking or just trying to have more freedom of movement while attending to small children on a boat.I would appreciate any advice anyone might have. Have a fun and safe summer everyone.

Hello,
I have done some worrying over several safety issues and I'm glad you are a concerned momma too. I think looking on-line is helpful to find small infant life jackets. Also, Sportsman warehouse or similar places. Fortunately, we have one that is a hand me down. I bought a brand new car seat and thought about waiting for a new jacket but the life jacket was in real good condition. It worked well until I found a new one in Big Lake, AK. Now he's 19 mos. There are plenty for 30 to 50 lbs. Good luck to you. Maybe try one out in a deep jetted tub. Mine is black and zips up and has some jell sort of substance. I love it and can move around. When I was pregnant I couldn't zip it but was able to buckle it fine. We are usually on a lake where it's safer. It was a present-I'm sorry I don't know where they got it. Maybe REI.
