Know of a good Jack in the Box & other toys?

Hi! I just purchased a jack in the box toy from Toys R Us(Fun Years) and it is of very poor quality. The music is barely audible and its not at all like the jack in the boxes I remember from my childhood. Can any of you recommend a GOOD Jack in the Box toy I can buy for my 8 mo old? He loves the element of surprise and would go crazy for a jack in the box! I'm also ready to buy him the bilingual Leapfrog or other brand interactive toys. My almost 8 mo old has outgrown and become bored with his exersaucer, rattles, play gyms, and the other baby toys we recieved from my baby shower. Its time to upgrade! Which toys does/did your child seem to like best? I bought him the Baby Tad Hug and Learn frog but he doesnt seem to like it very much. However, he DOES like the Fisherprice Roll arounds Swirlin Gumball we bought today. I need more educational toys for his playtime but I don't want to waste money like I did today!

there was a really cute jack in the box on target.com. it had a monkey that pops out. Not sure if it is still on there.

My son 20 months LOVES his bilingual Leap Frog, It's his favorite toy. He takes it everywhere he goes from the time he wakes up through bedtime and he has to take it when he goes to dad's or anywhere else.

I definitely recommend the Leap Frog Bilingual.
Good Luck and I hope this helps.

Hi Alexandra,
We got my son a jack in the box for Christmas - it's a metal box with a real "jack." I've actually seen the same one in tv shows and in quite a few books. It's from the store Puzzle Zoo at North Park Mall and is $25. My son loves it - he's 18 months.

We have a baby tad and have had it for quite some time. My son didn't start playing with it until recently. He enjoyes pushing the buttons and listening to the music. At 8 months my son loved the door from Fisher Price. It's a door that looks like you're inside the house on one side and outside on the other. He got it when he was 6 months old and I just recently put it away so he could play with his Christmas toys. I'm going to bring it back out soon because he spotted it the other day and wanted it back. (I like to change out his toys out every few weeks). I like the door because as he started crawling, pulling up, and walking, he noticed different things about it. It was like there was always something new about it that caught his eye. My niece is 3 and she still loves hers.

My son also likes my neighbor's little people farm set. It's great to use to teach sounds of animals and good for fine motor skills. He may be a little young yet to understand. I think the Fisher Price door would be great for him. There is so much for him to do with it.

Good luck!
