Just killing time.... Fashion statements you cant stand.

What are some new fashion trends that you just will not participate in? Mine used to be leggings, but I finally cracked and started wearing them. Now its those ugly sandals that go all the way up your leg, they look like boots but have open toe. I hope I never decide to like them because right now they drive me nuts. (Sorry if anyone likes them) Whats yours?

I teach in a high school and the half shirt is coming back.

The girls are also wearing patterned hose under denim shorts.

Toms shoes - yeah, they are a great cause but they look like grandma shoes.

A big YUCK to all three of these.

this isn't about ME or an ADULT - but about what parents let their children wear!! THOSE fashion trends.....

Little girls or even teenagers in mini skirts (I guess I should say MICRO mini!) as a former cheerleader - i get mini skirts - but NOT on an 8 year old...

Half T-shirts...for ANYONE! Yes, i owned a few from concerts but didn't wear them....

But overall - it's letting young girls/kids dress like adults....yuck!!!

Tube tops and low ride jeans. Not just together, but especially together.
I saw a gal the other day whose jeans rode so low on her hips, her butt crack showed, just a bit, but EWWW!

I can't stand those shorts w/a word written across the butt like "princess". I hate that it not only draws my attention to that part of someone's anatomy (most of them young girls) but I'm sure it draws the attention of dirty old men to a young woman's butt.

Gladiator sandals. I can't stand them for some reason. Those, paired with the rolled up boyfriend jeans... no thanks!!

Denim jackets. I think my mother traumatized me.

Anything 80's... this includes acid washed jeans, which are trying to come back. Please no!!

Those stupid one piece 'rompers' for grown ups... this inlcudes shorts overalls. WHY?! My 1 year old looks cute in rompers... grown women do NOT, you look ridiculous.

Fashions I can't live without: my ripped jeans. I will wear them until they fall off my body. My plain black nike flip flops. Tshirts I wore when I was 10. Sky high black heels. Plain spaghetti strap tanks with 'grandma' sweaters on top. Oversize sunglasses. Ridiculously floppy sunhats. Anything 'hippy'. 'Wife beaters' in every color. These are my staples :)

UPDATED FOR LEE: I hate bolo ties ;)

Female vests.

I'm another one who can't stand the writing - ANY writing - on the butt. "princess" "sexy" "tease" ... honestly, can we just write "trashy" and call it a day?

I'm hating the skinny jeans on the guys just as much as I hate the saggy baggy crap.
I'm pretty much a peasant dresser, so glad it's warm enough finally to pull all my skirts out of hiding.

Skinny jeans on guys...especially if they're not really skinny. I just don't get it.

I hate the shirts and dresses that are so blousy it makes the skinniest person look pregnant.

I have a nice body and I won't wear clothes that make me look pregnant or are not appealing to my figure.

Hate the Tom's shoes too....

I HATE to see a young man walking in a half-straddle, trying to keep stupid his pants from falling down, constantly adjusting to keep them to just halfway over his @ss crack with at least half of his underwear showing. Seriously, I don't know that I've ever hated, or ever will hate any fashion trend, and I use that phrase loosely, worse. And it's not even that I care so much about seeing his underwear, as I just can't stand watching someone walk with their legs spread wide apart, obviously struggling to keep his pants up! It's SO RIDICULOUS!!

And I hate gladiator sandals too, Rachel!

form fitting shirts. If you have a really flat stomach, they look great, but really - if you are soft AT ALL - it just looks terrible.

I really, really can't stand baggy pants on guys. I also hate the shorts that guys wear that go way below the knee. It looks ridiculous!

I don't like the bright red or super dark maroon hair color either. You know, the ones not found in nature.

I could care less about adult fashion trends - I just wear what I want to wear, and is comfortable and looks decent enough.

Kids today though...I have 2 teenage stepsons, and 1 is into the "skinny jeans for guys" look. He's a bean pole already, and purposely buys and wears girls jeans for how skinny they are. He was doing the Emo Hair for a while, then a year ago gave himself dreadlocks, which still look God-awful on him with his stringy white-person hair. The other stepson wears the loose baggy jeans way down below his hips so the top half of his boxers stick out. I can't stand either trend!

I just did a presentation at the local middle school for their career day and one of the things I saw on many of the girls were super mini skirts that were also very poofy with lots of ruffles - they looked wider than they were long. Also paired with skimpy tops and strappy heels. I kept thinking, I thought there was dress code - why are these 13 year olds dressed like hookers? And on Career Day, no less? What kind of career are they thinking of for themselves?

I also hate the words on the butt, and the whole "wearing pajamas and slippers out in public" thing. How hard is it to put on some jeans and real shoes?

Mukluk boots. Oh man, I don't get them. Especially the ones covered with fur and have furry balls hanging off of them. I just dont understand why it's "cool" to look like you have strapped 2 pomeranians to your feet to go to the mall. It could work... If they were in Alaska hunting seals. JMO.

ADDED: Justin Beiber haircuts! I'm tired of seeing boys flick their heads so hard they are going to twist them right off their bodies.

OMG I just read everyone's answers (I answered first without reading) and I can't believe how many of us are annoyed by the ultra low-falling down of your ass pants that some men wear LOLOL, they do look really ugly don't they!)

for women I don't care what they wear, I'm not a fashionista at all so jean and t-shirt is what you'll see me in all year.
But I hate it when men use their jeans really low almost falling down and you can see their underwear. It's disgusting,
other than that, maybe fish net pantyhose? I would never wear that.

I think mine are less fashion 'statements' than they are fragments, ha ha. (Insert your own geeky grammar joke here.)

I'm not a fan of the 'short shorts and Ugg boots' look. I'm not wild about uggs in any case (nothing personal, I'm sure that half the world isn't wild about the Keen's I wear, either), but the short-shorts with it look utterly ridiculous. Pick a season and dress for it.

I'm not doing cropped leggings either. I'm forty and short, those things chop my legs off at the wrong place.

Not a fan of the "maxi" dress. It's a hybrid: bikini top on top, beach cabana underneath. Just not my thing.

Lots of the clothes I see at stores (H&M in particular) look so thin and fragile, like rags, waiting for just one tug before "riiiiiip!" I'm not sure why "raggedy" is the new look there. Maybe I'm missing something....

Lastly, that new shade of bright canary yellow that's been out for the past year or two. That is an incredibly unflattering color on most people, myself included. I don't even want to look at it.

I'm sure I could list off more, but I'm actually pretty fashion impaired.
Added:
Oh, of course just like the rest of us,I totally abhor the 'low, showin' off my Calvin Kleins" as well with the guys.... the problem is, I've been seeing this trend for the last 20 years, so I didn't figure that as "new". So I'll also throw in "activewear for lounging" (think Juicy Couture, which is not in fact couture) and anything with letters or words on the bum declaring one's 'hotness'.

I don't like seeing men & young men walking around like they craped their pants.
Pajama bottms to the stores.
Skinny jeans on boys the ones that are too skinny you can't breath in them.
Mini skirts on young gals.
Wedge shoes for toddlers.
Cut off shorts.
Fuzzy boots/shoes
Any shoe with zippers
Sleezy clothing for young gals, including the high heels for juniors
Low rise jeans (don't bend over we can see your butt crack)
Crocs
I'm sure I have more

-I think flip flops anywhere but the beach and pool are horrible.
-I also hate slide on shoes on most women-esp delicate ones like mules. You really need to be so thin to wear them-otherwise you look like you are popping out of your shoes.
-Definitely low or lower rise jeans on women and girls. It is a style that looks so bad on 95% of the female population. Makes otherwise thin women look fat.
-Hating the maxi skirts out now. Another style that looks good on such a small % of women.
-Also-the puffy mini skirts are looking really bad.
-Gladiator type sandals on anyone that does not have thin legs look bad-or any sandle/shoe that has a horizontal line at the top b/c it trunkates the leg.
-I hate monogrammed purses too
-Capris look so bad on most women too-they hit at such a bad place and so make most look much heavier. Hitting mid calf is the worst.

For men-OMG I hate when grown men wear a football/hockey or baseball jersey. Or when they wear their baseball cap backwards. Jorts too-yuck!

I hate Uggs. Chances are, if you're over 20 and wearing these--you look like a chump.

Writing on the butt shorts. Please.

Moms over a "certain age" that think they can pretty much wear when their teens are wearing.

And why are women such a slave to Coach purses? Hello--It not a status symbol anymore!
