Ideas for my 8th wedding anniversary

I am looking for ideas on how to celebrate my 8th wedding anniversary. The past few years my husband and I have pretty much not done anything for our anniversaries because of money issues. So buying an expensive gift is not an option. I am looking for ideas of things to do or something I could make / say that would make the day special. Obviously you don't know my husband and each spouse / marriage is different but again I am just trying to think "out of the box" and come up with something we can do together.

I don't know anything about your area... is there a park nearby where just the 2 of you could go walk, have a picnic dinner/lunch, feed ducks, etc? That would be a nice, inexpensive way to just have some quiet time to yourselves :)

I would re-create your first date. Even if don't live in the area that you had your first date in, you can still kind of "fake" your way through it. If money is too tight to go out for dinner/movie/whatever you did on your first date, you can still recreate it at home. If you had italian food and went to a movie on your first date, you can make the same dish at home and rent the exact movie that you guys saw on your first date.

Good luck!

write him a poem, go on a car/train ride, buy satin sheets and make sure to use them, pizza in the park, bubble baths, go on a walk, decorate the house wth hearts/write love notes on them, does he have a dessert he especially likes, make a homemade card, love coupons, breakfast in bed, camping, candlelight dinner, dance to the radio, make a cd of songs he likes, go on a hike and have a picnic, play games at home (get "special" ones at "special" shops), go necking, get him some flowers, make a candy-gram, go to a drive-in, put notes/flowers/candy on his windshield, take him to the store and ask a friend to set up a romanitic dinner with candes and soft music, watch the sunset together with champagne, go necking, greet him at the door wearing a huge red ribbon and nothing else, rent a movie that had meaning for both of you, cuddle up in front of the fireplace, share goals, go to a bird refuge, go to the zoo, go to a museum, go garage sale hopping, visit a state or national park, hunt wildflowers, play computer gamesgo skating, go kite flying, go bowling, do anything that would be fun. I know some/most/all of these aren't actally what you are looking for but maybe they'll spark an idea that would be perfect.
