how do you get more traffic to your blog?

I've been doing a blog for a few months now and I'm getting some traffic but I would really like to get more of an audience. For those of you that blog, do you have any tips/recommendations for getting my blog noticed?

TIA!!

I used to have a blog. Believe it or not how I wrote brought them in. I had to give it up during my divorce, just not enough time. One of these years…

The thing with blogs is once you have all your friends there has to be something that drags people in and compels them to read.

Try this site.
I’ve used it. Liked it.
You “bid” on a price.
Reasonable.
Legit site.
Don’t know if they do for blogs.

You need to advertise.
Or do “affiliate” advertising on your site.
I’ve done that too.

And use FaceBook and Twitter banners on your site, and connect it to a FaceBook account that you have to sign up for to connect it to your blog. You also get “traffic” to your blog that way. I do that too.

Well, and you are “advertising” your blog, right now, on Mamapedia by posting your question.

You have to network with other blogs with like content and build friendships and readerships. Since you have a culinary blog, network on food network groups.

Take amazing photos of your food, it can be really important! Add the pics to food flikr groups. Food photography tips here:

I checked out your blog, change your background, and make it more inviting. Check out other food blogs and see how they are laid out, lots of good ones here to check out:

I love this one:

You have to have relevant tags, add them into your pics code when you upload them so they come up in searches. You have to have original and interesting content and pics… usually sticking with a similar theme is best. Like a mommy blog or a recipe blog or lifestyle or decorating blog. You have to maintain it. I use to get tons of readers a day, but I didn’t maintain my blog and my readership is down. I try and post a new post daily or at least every other day, but lately it’s been every 2 weeks or so. Add your blog to blogrolls and such. Advertise on popular blogs… Set up a google analyltics account to see where your readership is coming from, and why they are coming. Google this question, there is tons of advice out there. Here is mine
