Any recommendations on good hotels and/or spas in Hot Springs? A friend and I are thinking of going for two nights between Christmas & New Years so no bed & breakfasts. Would like to stay downtown (i guess?). I've never been to Hot Springs, is it worth the drive from N. Dallas?
I've seen The Arlington, The Austin and The Springs Inn. I know their old, but are the nice? The furniture looks victorian and uncomfortable :). Don't really want to do The Embassy as we could do that in Dallas.
I am from Hot Springs. My BFF had her wedding at the Arlington and it was nice, but not spectacular. The hotel rooms were on the small side (at least the one she used for changing area). If you are downtown, you can walk the Promenade, Bath House Row (some are functional and some are for tours). Most of the attractions that would appeal during that time of year are downtown. The race track is shut down and the lakes are great during the summer, but not now
Shopping downtown is fun. It is a beautiful drive.
I live in AR and visit Hot Springs several times a year. I cannot recommend the Arlington. It “used” to be quite the showplace, but not anymore. The Austin is just ok, and I do not know anything about The Springs Inn. I always stay at the Comfort Inn & Suites on Nash Ave. I like the modern style motels/hotels.
Bath House Row is beautiful and will be extra special to see during Christmas and New Years! Yes, the drive alone from Dallas is worth it. It is really beautiful! Have fun!
We got to Hot Springs often and always rent a vaction home from villagevillas.com. We have never been dissapointed. It is a 20 minute drive from the downtown shopping area but the feeling of being up in the mountains is so worth the drive! have fun!
