hemroids

I don't even know how to spell it! Just wondering what works? I had them after having babies but they went away. A few weeks ago I was sick and had diahrrea and now I have them worse than ever. Do over the counter creams/pads work or jsut soothe symptoms? I really don't have too many bothers, they are jsut gross? Do I really need to go to my doctor with this?

Jennifer

GO TO THE DOCTOR!!!!!

Trust me go to the doctor. I know from experience. I had them for years and used the creams/pads nothing worked. I eventually went to the doctor and I had to have them removed.

Good Luck!

I had one way before I was ever pregnant (lifting heavy boxes will apparently give you one). I did go to the doctor and got a prescription cream. Until that point, I didn't even know what one was, so the doctor was my first choice. But after my daughter, I used over the counter, worked fine. But if you have a cluster of them you may want to have them looked at and removed. Maria

Well it all really depends on you. If you can get some extra rest, ha ha, I know with kids! But even just put your feet up and try to eliminate any excess stress. Stress really can affect them. Also drink plenty of fluids, preferably water, and get lots of fiber. I eat these fiber one granola bars that have 9 grams of fiber and they are really tasty. Of course you should eat fruits and veggies but sometimes when you are on the run grabbing a granola bar can help. You can use creams etc. for the symptoms but with these natural solutions you may be able to handle the problem on your own. If you are having severe pain or bleeding, then I think a trip to the Dr. is warranted. Have a great day and best wishes!

Preperation H has always helped mine. I even get the cooling kind. It feels funny the first time you use it but it really does reduce the swelling and eventually it does go away if you use it say, every potty break. They also have wipes for on the go. But I have had hemeroids that lasted two weeks or more..and Prep H helped them go away. Good luck!!

witch hazel pads..gauranteed to work. they have multiple uses so no one really knows why you are buying them. just place them over the top of it and change them every time you use the restroom. gone before you know it.

The best thing to use is emu oil. If you can find somebody that sells it in your area--or you can shop for it online. It's a little expensive, but natural and has about 50 awesome uses. It worked on several people I know.

I hear you.Put some Tucks pads in the fridge. It helps alot when they are cold. I kept my sitz bath from the hospital and use it when they are really bad.

"Preperation H" is great because you can actually insert the medicine into the anus where some of the itch is. You can also use the pads "Tucs" after a bowel movement which helps to keep the area clean, and that helps with itch also. I don't think that you need a dr. on this one. It's mostly just very uncomfortable.

I had mine so bad that I could barely walk. I had to get a prescription for a high concentration of cortizone cream. The over-the-counter cream wasn't working, but after one day with the prescription, there was a big difference! I haven't had them since.

I had them so bad after my daughter was born!! The suppositories work really really well! They are kinda gross to use, sticking them up in your anus, but you feel so much better so quickly that it is worth it.

I used the pads after using the restroom...there are some that are much bigger than the tucks pads...as big as a baby wipe...I bought those because those little round ones were too small.

If nothing over the counter works then a trip to the doctor is in order...just as I thought I would have to go in, I tried the suppositories and they worked for me.

{{{{hugs}}}}

They never truly go away. The suppository shrinks them and takse away the pain but, they will still be there. There is a outpatient client that removes them.

Dear Jennifer,
I've been through this, too! TUCKS pads are great!!! They sell them at Target in the section with Preparation H. Also, remember to eat lots of fiber, apparently this can help hemorrhoids get better. (I had to go look at my tucks container to see how to spell it!) ;-)
Good Luck!

Hi Jennifer,
I had the same thing after my son was born. It bugged me more months. I finally got this cream from an online store I shop with and I have not had a problem since I put this cream on one night. It worked for my sister as well. I shop with an online wellness company so they have all naturally based products that are safe and work better than anything. They are not exspensive and infact I have saved money since I'v been shopping online. Give me a call and I can help you out.

Hi Jennifer...try making fresh ginger tea and eating it raw. It's not very tasty (but what is that's good for you???) You should feel instanct relief. Next, you must consider your diet. Try eating as healthy as possible, like: making raw vegtable salads and chew your food very well. Hope this helps!

Your Dr. can tell you. But the over the counter creams do help. But if you are having problems now see him and he may be able to get you some other help also.

Hi Jennifer,
Please go to your doctor, I had a hemeroid that wasn't always painful but just unsightly and was often embarased because it looked like I had a cling-on. When I went to my doctor for a pap smear he said do you want me to do something with that. I asked what he could do. He deadened the area and cut it off. I had very little discomfort and not one problem since.
Good Luck
Wendy
