Fellowship of The Parks

Does anyone attend Fellowship of The Parks? We visited this past Sunday and really enjoyed it. We are currently looking for a church home close to 377 and Park Vista in Fort Worth. Our last church was Fellowship Church in Grapevine, we were not getting connected there and needed something else close to home. I have 3 kids ages 8,7 and 3 all girls. TIA!

We've gone there for about 5 years. It is a very good church. The children's ministry is great! My kids have always loved their Sunday school classes. My oldest, who is now in kindergarten, went to the preschool there for 2 years and my youngest is about to complete his first year there, and he'll attend again next year. I've always loved the music and the messages. We used to live in Park Glen, but are now living by the SPeedway, so we've been looking for a new church home. I have loved FOTP, but we're hoping to find something similar with people in our neighborhood and kids my son goes to school with. If we can't find anything comparable, we'll definitely be back at FOTP. It is a very large church, so it is hard to get connected. We joined a lifegroup and had a great time in that, but again, we've moved, and it's too far away for a school night. I tried a couple women's Bible studies, but those were pretty "clique." I'm very shy, so I don't do well in situations where I feel like an outsider. The Sunday mornings were great, but we didn't have much luck in building great friendships like we'd hoped (another reason we're looking again). My husband and I just do better in a smaller group than a large one, but that is a great environment for most people! Good luck!

We do!! And we love it! We tried several churches in the area when we moved here 3 years ago and knew immediately after attending FOTP that it was 'home'. Of course it was a bit smaller three years ago! My kids are 6 & 4 (b & g) and they both really enjoy the childrens ministry. My husband and I teach 2nd grade Sunday school in The Lab second service - please introduce yourself when you drop your daughter off! If you haven't taken your kids to sunday school yet I highly encourage it. We have a blast in The Lab - we do experiments, watch a goofy video, sing songs & dance, play games, and have small group study time. My son is in the kindergarten & first grade rooms (since he's there for two services they let him switch rooms for the second service). I've tried to get him to come into church with me to listen to the music but I can't pry him away from his class, he's having too much fun. The lady in charge of the curriculum for the K & 1st rooms also teaches one service (2nd, I think) and is wonderful. She's a full-time kindergarten teacher and is just fabulous with the kids.

The prior poster was right, the best way to get involved with FOTP is to join a lifegroup. We've met some wonderful friends through the lifegroups we've joined. I don't think she's giving women's ministry a fair shake though, it's really grown in the last year. Vonda runs the womens ministry and is the sweetest, most down to earth woman I know. I also can be shy when in a group situation where I don't know many people, but the beauty of FOTP is that you can just insert yourself in someones conversation and they'll welcome you in! I've met some awesome ladies at womens events. There are several womens events to choose from on a weekly/monthly basis, you just have to try some out and see what fits.

Ok - I wrote a book. Sorry, but we're pretty passionate about FOTP. My walk with God has gotten so much more personal since we joined there, and our children have just blossomed.

We would love to have you join us one Sunday. Shoot me an email or just pop by The Lab (2nd floor) second service and say 'HI'!
