Do you like Luvs diapers?

Luvs diapers are sooo much cheaper than Huggies or Pampers, so I am wondering if any of you have used them with your babies, and if you like them? It would be great to save some money! Thanks!

My very favorite diapers came from costco. They are cheap, excellent quality, and I always got a large amount. They hold on around the legs really well.

Hi Becca,
We tried Luvs, and hated them. They didn't fit well at all and leaked all over the place! We ended up giving the rest of the package to the daycare our daughter was going to at the time to use for the parents that "forgot" to provide diapers for their kids. But I think it will be kind of a personal thing - they might fit some people's kids and not others. We used Huggies and/or Pampers - whichever was on sale when we needed diapers. Also tried the WalMart brand and that worked fairly well. Good luck!

We're using them on our second and love them! Our first we actually went cheaper and used the White Cloud, but our other 2 have some sensitivities. Luvs are made by the same company as Pampers, so if you like Pampers, you'll probably like Luvs. I have friends who also loved the Target brand. It's been a long time since I tried them, but we didn't like them. Like someone else said, though, it's personal preference and baby shape that seems to matter the most.

Luvs is all I use, I use to use parent's choice on my other two, and every morning when they started sleeping through the night, I had to change thier sheets. With my son now, I dont have to. And you can make them fit so much better, with the bear hug fit. I personaly think you would be making a smart choice in using them.

Luvs are the worst! I was given a package as a shower gift, and they were awful. They leaked all over the place. Kirkland diapers from Sam's Club, or Parents' Choice from Wal-Mart worked a lot better for my baby.

Hubby and I had three babies. We used to call these diapers "Luvs Leak". We only bought Luvs if we were travelling and it was the only brand they had.

I used Luvs with my daughter and loved them. They were far more absorbant than Huggies and cheaper than Pampers and Huggies. I tried using them with my son and found that they irritated his skin, so I had to spend a little more and go with the Pampers which were absorbant like Luvs, but more flexible like Huggies. Try a pack and see how they work with your baby. I would highly recommend them. If they don't work for you, go with the Pampers!

We have found that Luvs diapers have a STRONG powdered scent, and Wal Mart, Target, or Costco brand diapers work just fine and they are even cheaper than Luvs. ;)

I personaly LOVE them! I switched when my daughter was perhaps 2 months old... she is now 12 months.
To me they are totally the same in how much they hold, they have the stretchy tabs and fit her body well.

I will warn you that the outside texture is totally different. They are not as soft as perhaps Pampers, but who cares? They are under clothes. Luvs for sure are more crunchy and just not as "high class". But inside the diaper, for me, is the same!

The only reason I even tried them was they were a gift. When I pulled the first one out I was like are you kidding me, these are total crap and so cheap feeling. Low and behold they went on well and held in what needed to stay in. I have never gone back. Sure if I could afford those nice soft Pampers I would use those, but shoot once used they go right in the garbage, so I came to my senses.

I will say (and this goes for any diaper) once you start getting blow outs, just move up to the next size. We try so hard to "use up the pack" but in the mean time you are cleaning up messes and soaking stained clothes. So that was my only issue. When it was time for her to move to the next size we just gave in.

Good luck and give one pack a try. Like I said it took me a day or two to get used to how they seemed to feel, but I soon got over that when I started to see the savings~

Hi Becca,
I used to use Pampers and Huggies... you are right Luvs are so much cheaper than those two. I use them on my two year old. I wish I would have known about them with my first child. :) I buy them at super walmart which is another savings in itself. I do like them. If you go to their website, you can a $1 coupon off! You might want to try a small pack of them first to see if you like them or not but if you don't like them, at least you can get another $1 off! Good luck! Bea

My babies are wearing Luvs right now. I actually put my babies in the cheapest diapers I can find after the blow outs stop happening as often. The parent's choice at Walmart are really cheap and I don't mind them.

We used & still sometimes use LUVS. I like that they have a nice baby powder scent and I have never had them link. Recently, we tried the Target brand one time when we didn't have any coupons. I've found that I really like too. They don't have the nice scent of LUVS, but you get more for the price.

I have had other moms tell me Luvs leaked like crazy for them, but I have been using them and they seem to work fine. When they start to get too small (when it's time for the next size), then they do leak more often. And I guess when my baby was brand new they did leak out the back if he had a particularly big poop. But I like them. Parents Choice, on the other hand...leaked about every other time for me. Hated those. :)

Luvs ALWAYS fell apart on me. I gave them a shot several times, usually because it was a time when I was short on cash. The insides ALWAYS fall out in them and end up all over baby's crib, body, and the floor. Messy, and if you change them super-often to keep them from falling apart, you're not really saving money because you're changing them so often. I HATE Luvs and will never EVER use them again. The best cheap diaper I ever used was White Cloud. I used to get them at WalMart, but I can't find them anymore! They were the kind I ALWAYS bought, but they disappeared from the store.

Sounds like you like your Luvs. I didn't like them mostly because of the smell-my boys didn't need to smell perfumey!
I also loved White Cloud diapers, but I've seen in a couple of posts on here that they're not selling them anymore. I dumped Parents Choice after finding more than one in each bag a few times w/broken off tabs.

I see you're already using and liking them, but I'll weigh in anyhow. Each time I tried Luvs, the soaking beads (the chemical stuff inside the diaper that soaks up the urine) came out and stuck to my babies skin. Didn't hurt them, but the thought and the extra hassle of getting it off was something I chose not to deal with. I finally went with Kirkland (when I could get them) and Pampers (always with a coupon). Good place to get all diapers: www.diapers.com

I have heard many Moms over the years say that they love LUVS but I have only had bad experiences with them. They are a great deal and I was impressed by the "stretchiness" they offered. The price was right, too, especially since I had great coupons! Unfortunately, they gave my daughter's the worst rash ever. I used them a few years apart, too, so I didn't expect that to happen to two different babies. It was also during the first diaper wearing that it happened. Both times, the rash was SO bad that I it required medical attention. Guess I have sensitive bottomed babies! Would have been nice to save the money though, so it is worth trying them out. Happy diapering!

i don't like the feeling of Luvs so i've been using Huggies since walmart stopped selling White Cloud and i like them. Parents Choice doesn't fit my skinny babies right. with the Target brand i seemed to be changing the diapers more often. but i have a friend who uses nothing but Luvs. try a small package of the Luvs and if you like them enough, no need to pay more for another brand.

If you like the Luvs stick with them but for me an even cheaper option that has worked great for me with my last 2 kids are the Target brand diapers.
