Disney Vacation Club

I am thinking of purchasing a Disney Timeshare. I have a few questions that are unclear after watching the video.
If anyone can help answer some of these I would greatly appreciate.

  1. Do the Disney Vacations (to Disney in Florida) include theme park tickets or are those separate?
  2. Do any of the DVC ever include all inclusive plans? (i.e. meals etc)
  3. Can I travel at any time of the year as long as I have points?
  4. The video I watched focused on Disney resorts but can I also travel to carribean? i.e. Aruba, Bahamas, etc
  5. Does anyone know if I can buy a DVC from someone else other than direct from Disney and still have the same perks as if I bought directly from Disney? 6.Can I sell my own DVC once I buy and if I decide I am not happy with it?
  6. Does anyone also know how long the financing is with DVC? I don't want to pay for this for the next 20 + years. LOL
  7. Any cons that I have not thought of??

Thanks in advance.....I don't know where else to turn

We LOVE LOVE LOVE our timeshare!!! I will answer your questions now!

  1. No, you still have to buy theme park tickets.

  2. You can always buy the meal plan when you stay at DVC properties. You may not need to (because the larger ones come with a full kitchen...don't know what size you are looking at), but we like having the meal plan so we don't have to cook on our vacation!

  3. Yes, but you need to book far enough in advance, and the people who "own" that time of the year get the opportunity to book them first a lot of the time.

  4. Yes you can. You would stay at an RCI property. We haven't done that, but it is definitely do-able.

  5. You can buy RCI and stay at DVC properties, but you pay more per year for it (you would pay your RCI fees, plus more Disney fees). Other than that, there is no other way to buy a DVC expect through Disney (they are extremely helpful and wonderful, so honestly, I wouldn't want to buy through anyone but them too!)

  6. You can sell it at any time. I promise though, that if you go to Disney on a fairly regular basis, you will NOT be disappointed! Most people who we know who have them just wish they got them sooner!

  7. They will work with you on financing. You can even do it on your own (take out a private loan and pay that company back, use home equity, etc.), so there really is no way for it to take you 20 years unless you want it to take you 20 years!

  8. No cons at all! We seriously love our timeshare and I cannot imagine why we didn't do it sooner! Our fees for the year are around $600...you would be hard-pressed to stay anywhere for a week for that price! We bought at Bay Lake Towers and it is just beautiful! We went this past May, are going next May, and are hoping to go to the new Hawaii resort the following year!

I hope I helped, and if you have any other questions, please feel free to PM me!

I know that these questions can all be answered by calling DVC directly and speaking to a rep. They answered alot of questions for us that we hadn't even thought of.

It is very difficult to sell a timeshare. There are so many on the market. We bought a time share in South Afica for $1,200 and than traded our week to RCI. All of our fees are $455 a year. We bought a "red" week (a highly desirable week) and are able to trade for very nice resorts. RCI does not care where you buy your original timeshare only if it is considered a "red" week. So we got into RCI through the back door. RCI also offers unbeleivable deals to buy an extra week for $250. I would not go the route of Disney, too expensive and you WILL get tired of going. We went 3 years in a row and took this year off- I was losing the magic of the place. Timeshares also only work if you are very organized and MUST plan at least a year in advance. Colleen de Klerk [[email protected]] is my contact to buy a sourth africa timeshare. Don't worry you don't have to go to Sought Africa! You just buy the week and deposit it at RCI and than the entire world is open for you! Just email her and ask her for a list of timeshares that are for sale. You want a red week. This enables you to book the NJ shore in August and not March!!!

There are also websited to buy timeshares. google them and I am sure you can buy a disney one.
