We have stayed several places in Destin for vacation. Where is your favorite place to stay in Destin? Im looking for ideas on places we haven't stayed. Looking for beach front. Preferably a condo.
Have you ever stayed in Pensacola? The beaches are beautiful but Im afraid there wont be much to do there.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
We spent many many spring breaks in Destin. Our favorite place is the Hilton Golf Resort and Spa in SanDestin. Yes, it is a hotel but it is WONDERFUL! We always got a Jr Suite which has a small bunk bed area in the front of the room with TV. The bathroom, fridge, microwave area separates the main room with bed, pull out couch, etc. from the bunk bed area. We got the beach views and it was great. There is a grocery not far and we just stocked up on water, daughter and her friend had cereal and milk and then we enjoyed the restaurants. Every breakfast was free.
It is located in a gated area, not far from shopping and restaurants. We feel it is safe.
There are condos on the property as well. I have no idea about the names, condition, etc because we like the hotel resorts but the condos looked pretty nice. They have a small mini golf course and you can rent bikes, etc.
I know nothing about Pensacola.
We have stayed at the Silver Shells resort in Destin 5 times. I love the location- walking distance to some fun restaurants and grocery shopping right across the street.
This property is gulf front. No service roads to cross, it’s all right there. It offers beach service, and a beach front grill/bar, a beautiful huge pool, work out facility, tennis courts, the works.
Use VRBO and you will find some really good deals. We have driven through Pensacola, but have not stayed there. Good luck and have a great time!
We stayed at Destin Gulfgate condos the last few times we went there. It’s walking distance to the Back Porch and other restaurants and also is across the street from mini golf and go carts. That being said, we have started going about 20 minutes further east to Blue Mtn Beach or San Destin to avoid the crazy Destin crowds. Condos aren’t high rises so the beach isn’t nearly as crowded. We liked Blue Mtn Villas the most and used vrbo to book.
