Wow public vs private, I'm sure you will get alot of feedback.:) I personally choose private school. My children attend Our Lady Of Peace in North Hills and I love it. The area not so much but it is gated and the principle is awesome!

Hi Sue! I was previously a Kindergarten teacher for LAUSD and as a first time parent I would definitely say look into private school! The expectations in public school K are really inappropriate for the developmental well-being of the children. Play is minimized and testing takes center stage. We looked at the Waldorf School on CSUN's campus. It looks fantastic! Wish I knew other good private schools in your area! Best of luck!
