My baby has been crawling for a while now, but she does the army crawl. She has rug burns or something on her arms and knees. I put her in long sleeves and long pants, but she still gets them. They look awful and I put lotion on them all the time. Is there something we can do or am I just going to have a baby with marks on her until she stops crawling?
would those knee pads work for that type of crawl? maybe some of that Nu Skin stuff? either way, I feel your pain. My daughter has been crawling with one leg dragging for about 8.5 months now. She is not even close to walking, either. So she gets carpet, cement, grass burn a lot! Oh and yes, we are working with therapists to help her out.
Well, for sure I would put aquaphor on it frequently! And, maybe you could cover it some with some type of guaze. If she messes with it, cut the top of a stretchy sock off, and cover the whole thing. I also might suggest looking into some sort of physical therapy. I do know that all babies crawl differently, but I have heard that the crawling position of hands and knees helps both sides of the brain develop etc..so it would be beneficial for lots of reasons to help her learn to get up on her hands and knees. Good luck ~Amber~
There is a product called Baby Legs that may help. They are like long socks that cover the legs from the thighs to the ankles. I have seen them at Kid to Kid resale store in Allen (they also sell some new products).
My little one had those same things on his knees until he started walking. I kept him in pants as well and it still didn't seem to change anything. Our pediatrician told us to get hydrocortisone cream and try to put that on him after his bath every night and first thing in the morning. I did notice those "raspberries" never seem to slow down my son. It will all go away once he starts walking ---- promise!!!
I used to do the same thing and my mom would cut out the bottom of my dad's thick old socks and put them on my arms and knees. That seemed to work really well. Good Luck!
Hi there
I did a quick search on Etsy for crawler covers and got pages of results. Check it out.

I hope this helps!
PS You can put them on her arms as well.
I agree with everyone to put the crawlers on her. I also seem to think that it may be some sort of eczema. Do you use a powder on your floor? Your daughter may be allergic to it. There are many reasons why this may be going on. You just need to try different things till you see what may be causing it.
I would put A & D ointment on it a few times a day & cover it with a old soft sock.
hi Danielle,
Are you sure it is not ecez. I thought it was the carpet too, and then ring worms, but mys son after his 1 yr shots developed a rash, just redness, then it was like a ring worm. It was awlful, but the Dr. said he had ecezema, but unsure it sure is unpleasant for him. At first I thought it was the carpet, now I use Mustella products try that and see if it helps. You can find that at Babies R us.
Sorry to hear this, though does your baby cry or try to itch her legs and arms?
If her arms or legs get raw like it might burn her, I don't know if that is the case yet or will be,...
Well good luck too you and your baby.
