I would like to hear what other women use to clean their walls. I just need a general cleaner, that's safe on painted walls, but most of all I want it to smell good. Thanks!
I am told the Magic Eraser by Mr Clean works for stains and marks on walls, but that is about all I know.
Christy,
It doesn't do much for smell, but I use the MR. Clean magic erasers. They will take about anything off of walls, trim, doors, etc. I have white trim and doors so I use them regularly. I also use them on the tile floors. I don't know what I would do without them!!

Magic Erasers are the best! I have 3 boys and use them everyday on walls, cabinets, floors, tables, you name it!
Christy, as a gr mom (Nana) of 5, i use a weak solution of simple green to remove crayon, pencil marks from our walls. I do have some crayon drawings I am saving. I call them my Monte's. Our two oldest gr children did them while I was getting ready to go out for dinner with their Papa. ;) They were quick :) It's on what I refer to as Nana's Angel art wall, I have all of their hand prints at age 17 months and 2 1/2 yrs on that wall. A couple made with spagetti sause or chocolate, one with kool aid powder, one with greasy dirt from papa's garage.
Try a small area where it won't show to check on your paint color lightening. Then just use sponge and spray bottle and wipe it down.
Good luck
Karen aka Nana
Christy,
I use Muphy's oil soap or Mrs. Meyers all purpose cleaner, both work great and make your house smell fresh and clean.

Mr. Clean Magic Erasers are amazing.
MR. CLEAN MAGIC ERASER!!!!!!!! This little sponge is the best thing since sliced bread. All you have to do is wet it, wring it out and use it. It even gets out permanant marker (sharpies) off of dining room tables. I know I must sound crazy with this next statement but it will change your life. I'm a little goofy.... There is no smell and it is really cheap. You can get them at wal-mart for like 2 bucks. Now there are other brands but they aren't as good. Good Luck!!!

I absolutely LOVE the smell of Fabuloso! I use the purple one, it is lavender scented. I also like the texture/scrubbing power of the Magic Eraser. P.S. the off-brands of the erasers work just fine also!
Believe it or not, I use Windex Antibacterial Multisurface. It smells awesome and I use it on almost everything!
Also, Mr. Clean Magic Eraser mysteriously cleans any stain, anywhere, somehow.
Happy cleaning,
Angie
I use a cloth with warm water and dawn dish soap. For stubburn spot I use a majic eraser, it is best to test a spot with the majic eraser to make sure It does not take away the paint.

This is what I do. I have a sponge mop that I use just on my walls. I just started to use the Mr. Clean with febreeze in it and it smells good. I just fill a bucket with warm water add the Mr. Clean and "mop" the walls.
I do this at least once a month and never had problems with the paint wearing. But I do not have flat paint on my walls, if you do you will need to use caution.
to clean walls you can use a bleach and water mixer. and also if you dont want that use Mr Clean. If you have smoke on your walls there is a stronger product that works well but need gloves to use it. It is TSP granules.
We use a little bit a vinegar with warm water for cleansing and add murphy's oil soap for a faboo clean scent. it does not hurt the paint finish at all at our place.
do a little test first.
I use Mrs. Meyers products for everything. They don't stink like chemicals, and they work really well. The All purpose cleaner is what I use for floors and walls. I like their Stainless steel cleaner too. Those can really stink, but I like the smell of the Meyers one. The Merc in Lawrence sells them.
I also use the magic erasers. They really do work amazingly well. However, don't let your children get a hold of them accidentally. I got an email not too long ago about a child that was using one to help his mom clean and when she wasn't looking he began to use it on himself, his face, arms, belly, etc. He ended up with chemical burns from whatever is in the magic eraser that makes it work so well. Apparently, children's skin is more sensitive to the chemicals. The mother spent the next twenty-four to forty-eight hours giving the little boy motrin, rubbing burn ointment on him and giving him long baths pouring tepid water over him to soothe the burns, after spending hours in the ER finding out what caused the burns. Hope this info helps.
Hello,
I use Fabalosa (not sure I spelt it right) You can get it at Walmart and it comes in nice pretty colors, purple & green. I love the smell and have found that it is safe to clean just about everything.
Happy cleaning!
Nicole
I use the majic eraser. I use it on my cabinets in the kitchen and bathrooms, and on all my doors and walls.
Hi Christy:
I use either the Magic eraser or Sol U Mel from melaleuca.
I always found that Spic and Span did the best job on walls. It doesn't harm paint and leaves a clean scent on the walls.
