Cleaning baby mattress??

My daughter was doing so well about staying dry throughout her naps. Lately she has been wetting a lot. It's my fault as I have been letting her have too much to drink but anyway to the point...Her mattress didn't have a pad on it because I have mommy brain and didn't think about it. Now she has had 2 accidents on it (I didn't learn my lesson the first time) and it really smells like pee-pee. How do I clean it or do I have to buy a new one?????

You could try diluting bleach with water (1/3 bleach) in a small spray bottle. Stip the mattress and take it into the garage or something covered outside. Spray it once and let it dry and then follow up each hour for about three or four hours. Before bedtime, check it because it should smell better. If it smells to much like bleach, you could try following up with Febreez. I would say that this would eliminate the oder and the germs.

If you can't get the smell out, get a foam mattress from Target. They're only $30. Ask them to get one from the back as they don't always have one on display. It has plastic on it already so it is very very easy to clean and also very light for changing sheets. I've been using this mattress since my daughter was born.
