child care on weekends/date-nights in my Roselle home

How much do you pay for an evening care provider? I do home daycare M-F, but am looking to watch children on Fridays/Saturdays/overnights but, at my house! I'm just not sure how much to charge being in my own home....Thanks for your help! Kathy

Not sure since your providing care in your home, but we have a weekend/date night sitter in our home & pay her $11.00 hourly. Our backup sitter is $12.00 hourly. Too pricey in my opinon, but they provide excellent care. Hope this helps!

We pay our sitter $12/hr for 1 child and $15 for 2 kids. She comes to our home. I, personally, would never bring my kids to someone else's home for our date nite, as I know my kids would not be able to get to sleep elsewhere unless my hubby and I were there.

I am so surprised at how much people pay babysitters these days - I'm still a mom in waiting on an adoption list, but it just seems so high! I mean, minimum wage is what - about $9/hour - I guess you pay what the demand is, but whew! That's pricey - I guess that's why I'll be doing babysitting co-ops and tradeoffs with friends. To spend $50 for a babysitter and then have to pay for a night out as well - eek!

Is it easier or harder for you in your own home? I would be interested to see a dollar amount myself.

Where do you live? I'm a single mother with 18 mo. old twins and would have loved to have gone to a cousin's wedding last Sat. night, but didn't have a sitter! Since kids would likely be asleep most of the time they're with you, I think $10 / hr. is good. You can contact me at [email protected]
