Chemo care package

A friend of mine living in Montana was recently diagnosed with ovarian cancer. She just had surgery and is starting chemo soon. Since I am so far away, I want to send her a care package to let her know I'm thinking of her. I'm just not sure what would be helpful, especially considering the nausea, etc. that are side effects of treatment. Any suggestions for what to include?

I actually clicked on your request hoping to find some suggestions since a friend of mine was diagnosed with breast cancer but now I find myself offering you suggestions. =) My mom went through treatment for leukemia about 7 years ago and I realized I can draw from that experience to help. The things my mom enjoyed and kept her mind off the treatments were funny books, painting (any kind is good but she liked the paint by numbers), a journal, crosswords/word search, and if she likes crocheting or knitting then something of that sort. The more light-hearted the better because the last thing they want on their minds is anything sad or depressing. The nurses said my mom was a great patient and survivor mainly due to her being upbeat, getting out of bed, and support. My mom said she was just in denial. =) Best wishes and you're being a great friend no matter how far away you are!

Oh, and maybe a lavender eye pillow or heating pad filled with lavender. =)
