Best way to clean dog "oil" from walls

Hi Mamas!
I was wondering if any of you have found a good way to clean dog oil off of your walls. I have two very large dogs who like to lean up against certain parts of our walls. The walls are looking dingy and because of the oils in the dogs' coats, the methods that I usually use to clean my walls (sponge w/soapy water, Magic Eraser) just aren't cutting it. Any advise is appreciated!
Thanks!

Try using Degreaser.

I've never tried it for this need specifically, but I swear by Lestoil. I use it to clean everything! I even use it in my laundry if I have a load with lots of touhg stains. When I need to clean something really grimey (spattered oils above the stove, etc), I just pour it straight on a scouring pad and go to town. It still takes a bit of scrubbing, but it works like a charm every time.

Tough & Tender

The best way to get rid of dog oil on the walls is to get rid of the dog in the house.

Keep a backup can of the wall paint. Choose a STOCK color that they always have on hand. Sometimes it is easier to paint a wall that to try to wash it.

  • Shampoo

When that doesn't work

  • 409

I just used the Magic Eraser for this and it worked great! They even come really big now!!
I have satin finish paint, so maybe that makes a difference? Not sure what you are working with.

Sorry, I guess I really was no help.
Good luck.

For most of my oil stains, even on clothes, I've used 7th Generation dish soap and suds it up.
Try a hidden patch--but I think it will work and be easier than scrubbing with anything else. I buy it at Target now (it is my fave dish soap and guilt-free!)

I use Dawn, and if the walls are light then a little bleach. Magic Eraser didn't work for this.

We have used Murphy's oil soap and water with some success. Good luck, it's one of those wierd things you deal with when you share your life with animals.
