Best Electric Pencil Sharpener

Hi Ladies,
I need to buy an electric pencil sharpener and I don't know which is best. I would like to keep it under $50.00 and it needs to be able to handle a lot of pencils. My girls are always sharpening school and colored pencils.

We have an old Boston model sharpener and it works great. I don't know that there are any "bad" ones on the market, so I wouldn't worry too much over this purchase.

i have sharpened alot of pencils when i assisted in a kindergarten classroom, I can't really recommend a certain brand, but if you can find one that has a light that lets you know it is sharpened that might be helpful for your girls. Make sure you get one that plugs in, you'll eat through a ton of batteries if you don't.

So glad you asked this question. I have been looking on line for an electric sharpener, one that will handle the colored pencils that the kids love. I have narrowed it down to the x-acto, either the Teacher Pro or the School Pro. I am going to order from Costco because I know that I can return it, their prices seem comparable to Amazon. Good luck!

Is there a particular brand you are looking for?

I have this one from Staples, and I've been happy with it.

I agree with VM about getting one with an AC adapter. I had gotten a battery-operated one from Target, and it lacked the power.

X-Acto is also a good brand. Both my kids' teachers have an X-Acto sharpenter in the classroom, and it works great.
