I've been trying to get the stubborn circular spots off my tub without harming the finish, and nothing is working. Do you have any ideas on what to try? I think the spots are from non-slip decals, it's definitely not residue from a bath mat. Any ideas appreciated. Thank you!
Try using baking soda. It shouldn't harm your tub, using it like scouring powder. When you are ready to rinse it off you can even scoot it to your drain and pour a little vineager over it, it will bubble down your drain like a natural drain-o. =) Rinse it with water and you are done.
Try Goo Gone or straight rubbing alcohol. If it is the adhesive from the decals, one of those ought to work. It is also possible, depending on the age of the tub, that they are hard water etchings and that the surface where they were stuck is not etched. Two more things to try are Bar Keepers Friend cleanser or the trusty Magic Eraser (Though I haven't found Magic Erasers useful on hard water spots and mineral deposits).
Try baby oil to get it off.
Or Rubbing alcohol

try mr. clean magic eraser. That gets almost anything clean. I don't like the dual one however, I get the original one. Target has their own brand of it that is less expensive and works the same.
Hello Anita: I know this is an old idea but try Baking Soda. It is a great cleaner. Just make a paste of it let it sit for awhile and then use a scrubbie or rough side of a sponge and it will help. This also works in a clogged sink-- it will bubble and clear things as well as sanitize.

Hello! I know this sounds crazy, but if your bathtub is white, you can use SOS. My guest bathroom is from the 70's and will be remodeled soon. The tub had really bad soap scum and nothing was taking it off. I figured even if the SOS scratched the tub that would be alright, but it did not scratch at all. Plus, I've never seen it so clean! Not sure how it would turn out in a colored tub....Good Luck

Shaklee makes a scrub paste that works great - is non-toxic (Greenpeace uses it on their ships) and smells good too. Look for a Shaklee distributor.
I had thisw problem for years. I scrubbed with everything and nothing worked. Then I had bought the extra strength magic eraser and it took it all off. I couldn't believe it, I had tried for so long and all it took was a magic eraser
