Hey gang,
This is my first question I am posting on this site. :) My son is currently attending stepping stone on Brodie but we are looking to move him since he will be three this month and will change classes and teachers. I have been looking at Habibi's hutch for him and wanted to know if any of you moms or dads have your kids there. If so can you let me know what you think? I really liked what I saw but would like to get the thoughts of other parents. Also, if you know of a full time preschool in Southwest-central Austin that you want to suggest please feel free.
Thank you so much!
it has been a million years, but our daughter attended the Stepping Stone in North Austin off of Burnet Road from the 1 year old room through preschool.
She was completely reading on her own by 4… we did not even realize it.
All through school she excelled. I really do give Stepping Stone a lot of the credit. They allowed a lot of play time. She took swimming lessons through them… She was completely prepared for kindergarten. She already knew rules of school behaviors. etc.
Not sure what you are looking for in daycare/preschool, but just make sure it is a goo match for your child.
My daughter went to Austin Children’s Montessori on Manchaca (Between Slaughter and William Cannon) and we LOVED this school for her. Everyone there was so wonderful, caring and nurturing. The life skills they teach and the Montessori method, was the perfect way to set her up for school and moving forward. My daughter started Kindergarten and she still asks if she can go back to ACM - at least to visit. We miss them all so much. I highly recommend and am glad I had this opportunity to tell others about this school. Good luck!
Yes!!! Both my kids went to the Hutch and we loved it. My daughter went from the time she was 3 until she started Kinder. My son was there from a year and a half until last May. He’s now in a Montessori school closer to our home. Habibi’s is such a great place. The kids spend the majority of the day outside and they learn through art, music and good old fashioned play. Some of the teachers along with the director have been there FOREVER. To me, that speaks volumes.
You have to be ok with your kid getting dirty. Sometimes really, really dirty! They play in water, paint each other, dig in the giant sand pile and anything else that they can do to get dirty. The also have tons of bikes that the kids ride around on the basketball court. My son learned to ride his bike without training wheels at the ripe old age of 3.
Both of my kids learned how to deal with real situations on the playground that they would deal with when they got to elementary school. They are learning life/social skills that they will carry with them throughout school.
I could talk all day about HH. Feel free to message me if you want any more info!
