Convertible Car Seat V. Booster Seat

UPDATED: I'm trying to decide between a rear-facing/front facing convertible car seat and a front-facing/booster seat (Britax Frontier 85) for when my son is 2 and front facing. I know that booster seats are generally less safe than teh convertible car seats but I thought that was b/c of the lack of a 5 point harness. Britax Frontier HAS a 5 point harness so I'm wondering if its stil less safe than the convertible car seat or if they are now equally safe... Which Britax Carseat?

We need to buy a new carseat for my daughter (soon to be 1 y/o and 20+ lbs.). She is in an infant carseat now but is over the height limits (29"). We are looking at the Britax Marathon but I hate how bulky it looks. I would like to keep her rear-facing as long as possible. I was also considering the Britax Boulevard or Dilpomat. Anyone have experience with those models? Or advice on carseats in general? Thanks!

Britax Car Seats

I'm looking into the Britax convertible car seats. My 7 month old daughter suddenly HATES the car after 15 minutes. Friends have advised using the convertible seats b/c they sit up more. My research says the Britax is the safest and I can get more bang for my buck from the convertible. Can anyone recommend a particular model? I am not sure where to even begin! THANKS!
