College Tuition: Whose Responsibility Is It?

I have thoughts on pros and cons of both sides to this, but I'm very curious as to what your thoughts are. * Provided college is the right choice for your child, the time is right and they truly would make the most of the experience*.... 1. Who should pay the tuition? Student or parents? 2. If you think the parents should, do you think there should be conditions attached? 3. What is your reasoning behind your answer? This isn't an all or nothing issue for sure, so I'm looking forward to a variety of responses to consider...

Question for Moms Who Work Full Time Work Outside the House

We have two children. My husband wants to try for #3. I don't know any other moms who work full time outside the house who have three children. If we had two in daycare and one in aftercare, it would take virtually everything I make in salary. So, my questions are: Do you have more than 2? What are your childcare arrangements? Do you clear any money after you pay for childcare? Sorry for the three-tiered question. Thanks!

Suggestions for Clothing Brands for Big Baby

My 10-month old is very big (31 lbs, over 32" tall). I'm having trouble finding pajamas to fit him. Many pjs are made to fit snug for safety purposes and are very tight on my son's arms and legs. I'd like to find cotton sleepers with feet, because he has mild eczema and scratches his feet. Does anyone have suggestions for brands of clothing that are roomy?

How Much Do Kids Cost?

You'd think with three kids I'd know how much it is to have a kid,,but I honestly don't know. The only added cost with our new baby is her college account. I do about 96% cloth diapers, I breastfeed, and I've spent maybe 100 on clothes since I got rid of all my baby girl stuff years ago, so i don't notice added cost in our budget. When she starts eating solids, I will probably spend an extra 40 a month on produce. My closest friend is disparate to have a baby. She's 41, got married last year, and there are lots of issues. To being with,...

Is First Years or Evenflo Breast Pumps Any Good?

When my son and daughter were born premature, the WIC offices where I lived provided a motorized Medella pump supplied from a medical supply store. Obviously this was very good. I know that Medellas are sold in Target but I also seen other brands. Is there an "off" brand ie, Evenflo, First Years, etc. that is comparable but without the price??

Pregnant Without Insurance

I just found out I am pregnant, well I think. I took a Dollar Store pregnancy test and the line showed up faint, but it was there so I think it means positive. I am going to go get another, better pregnancy test later. Anyway, my husband and I decided in February to stop taking birth control to try to have another baby. Well he left his job in May, and started a new one last week, but the new one doesn't have insurance. I know, how stupid of us to not use birth control or make sure we have insurance. Honestly, we don't have sex that often,...

Car Seats and Travel Insurance for Plane Trip

We just booked our very first family vacation, complete with plane flight, with our 2.5 year old son. The flight will be about 3.5 hours. The first issue I'm considering is a car seat. I've seen people recommend one on the plane as they're more comfortable for kids to sleep in--we're flying during his usual nap time and are hoping he might be able to settle down for a short nap. He is super active and curious, and I thought the car seat might also help corral him and calm him down with something familiar. We could use the car seat in...
