Cold Medicine During Early Pregnancy

Hi all. I've been reading the websites and I'm extremely confused and a little scared. I have a pretty bad - but not severe- head and chest cold (nasal stuffiness and drainage, ears are stuffy, soar throat and somewhat productive cough) and am 8 weeks pregnant. Medications Safe During Pregnancy

I am 31 weeks pregnant and have been suffering for 2 weeks! I am tired of having mucus in my throat, a dry cough, a sore throat, headache and stuffy nose. My Dr told me to try allergy meds to see if it was allergies. I tried Alavert and Claritin but didn't touch it. I also tried Tylenol Cold Multi Symptom and it didn't help. His MA mentioned that I might be able to take Mucinex but never found out for me. I put in a call but it takes them a while to call back if it's not an emeregency. Any other ideas?
