Language Skills for a 2 Year Old

My daughter is almost two years old and I am worried about her language skills. When other people are around her they do not understand what she is saying and I have to constantly tell them which is frustrating. To me it is pretty clear (most of the time)but obviously not to others. I know I shouldn't compare her to other children but when we take her to play areas or story time it seems that other children speak pretty well. When I ask how old they are their mothers say 2. Well that doesn't help me, that could mean 24 months or 34 months....

My 4 Year Old Is Suddenly Refering to Himself by Name.

My 4 year old son is suddenly referring to himself by name. "Vance wants a cup of milk" , "Vance wants to go outside", Vance wants to play a computer game", Vance this and Vance that. 3 Year Old Talking Back

I have a 3 year old that is talking back all the time. If he is told to do something he will say "don't tell me to..." or "I don't have too" I feel that I have tried everything to handle the situation when he talks back. I have put him in time out, tell him that it is unexceptable to talk back, and even have taken toys away. It seems that he is being very bossy to everything someone ask him to do. Helping 3 Year Old with Abc's

I have noticed that my 3 year old is having trouble with his ABC's (he can sing the entire alphabet song no problem, but has trouble recognizing the letters). We have letters for the bath and I have noticed that he sometimes puts the letters backwards on the tile and he has difficulty doing his ABC puzzles, but can do picture puzzles very easily - he is great with color and shapes. OK, mainly I'm just venting, but of course would love any ideas, input, etc. from those who have or have had 3 year old boys. Any advice on starting a cuuriculum for my 3 year old. I'm a SAHM and our budget is slim, right now I can't afford to get him into half day preschool. The least expensive I've found is $95 a week. Baby Sign Language?

I was wondering if anyone had some information on baby sign language. I understand it is a good way for children to learn to communicate and express themselves before they are old enough to talk. Does anyone do this with great success? How old can you start to teach your baby to sign? Are there any good books where I can learn more (because I hardly know any sign language myself)?
