Swaddling and Stimulation Questions

My son is 11 weeks old, but was born 18 days early. My husband and I have been using the soothing methods from Happiest Baby on the Block to get him to sleep. He's a super active baby, always swinging/punching/flailing/kicking, and swaddling him is the only way he can sleep w/o waking himself up. In a couple weeks I'd like to start letting him "cry it out" a little when putting him down so I can stop relying on the swing to get him to nap. If You Had to Do It All over Again, What Would You NOT Buy?

Hi mamas! I have two munchkins that broke the bank - I bought everything "they" said I needed and then some. How'd You Do Infant Naps??

Was wondering how others mommys went about their baby's nap times? My third baby is now 4 months old. She sleeps through the night, but won't sleep more than 20 min alone during the day. If held, she'll sleep up to three hours, (done one lazy day)! She's nursed, so she falls asleep eating, so I can't just put her down drowsy. My first son I held for every nap until he was three, loved it! Second son around 10 months he'd fall asleep in my arms, than I'd lay him in his crib. I'm just too busy now and need her to fall asleep alone.

Infant Car Seat-No Bottom Buckle???

My brother in law and his wife just had a baby. They went to their local fire departmetn to have them install the infant car seat right before the baby was born. The baby is here and is about 6 lbs 8 oz now. They say that the fireman told them that they can swaddle the baby in a blanket and put him in the infant seat WITHOUT his arms being through the straps ans simply buckle the chest buckle They leave the bottom "seatbelt" buckle undone. Alternative to Swaddling in Warm Weather

My 6 week-old sleeps well when swaddled (in blanket or Swaddleme wrap). The weather is getting warmer and we don't always turn on the air conditioning unless it gets very hot. I worry about him overheating if I swaddle him in the summer. But if I don't swaddle him, he keeps waking up from falling sensation. He just doesn't seem to know what to do with his arms and legs without the swaddle. Has anyone experienced this problem and found a solution? How can I help him sleep better without the swaddle?

Hi moms! I'm a first time mom of a beautiful baby boy. Everythin is going pretty well except for the fact that he does not want to sleep on his back. What Should I Pack for Hospital Stay?

Almost 35 weeks and thinking I should start putting together a bag to take with me when I deliver. I am a scheduled c-section, but things don't always go as planned :) I can't remember what I brought last time, it was so long ago. My OB said to plan on being in the hospital 3 nights if all goes well. I'm sure I'll need a light weight robe, clean underwear, my toothbrush and a change of clothes to go home in.
