Travel Toys for Toddlers

We will be leaving this weekend to go on vacation with our 23 month old son. The car ride will be about 5 hours long. I'm looking for toys to help keep my son occupied. He'll be strapped into the carseat (obviously) so many of his favorite toys from home won't be appropriate for the car. I would appreciate any suggestions or any other "toddler travel tips" you have! PS- We will be renting some DVD's from the library but I don't want him to watch TV the entire time :) Thanks!

16 Month Old First Flight

HI Moms, My husband and I are going to Florida on Friday. We're taking our 16 month old son with us and it'll be his first flight. He's our only child so far so it will be our first time flying with a little one. I'm sure this post has come about before but I never paid attention as it wasn't on our horizon. 10 Hour Car Ride with 20 Month Old Toddler

Does anyone have any suggestions for making a 10 hour trip more enjoyable (tolerable) for a 20 month old little boy? We just ordered a travel tray thing to help out and we have a car dvd player that we haven't used yet and think that should help somewhat, but we haven't gone on a trip this long with our son since last summer and now that he's way more mobile and active, I worry that he's not going to do well that long in the car. hi Moms, In her first year my daughter has already ridden on several plane trips, but never in her own seat. she has just been in my lap each time. She's getting bigger and more squirmy now, and I think its time for her to have her own seat on the plane (for her safety as well as my sanity!). Its also time for her to switch from the rear-facing infant seat to a front-facing toddler one.
