My daughter is not typical (no dolls, fairies or princesses at our house, for the most part). She likes Star Wars Lego, Indiana Jones Lego, etc. She also Loved Loved Loved Yoshi's Island (it's basically baby Mario)... but she lost it.
We have two girls who just got a DS. We are looking for some suggestions on games that are fun and age appropriate. One daughter cannot read yet, the other is learning to read pretty well. So we need fun games for girls (can be anything, not limited to princesses, fairies, etc), esp. that don't require reading help. Many thanks!

My daughter is soon to be 8, but she has had a DS for awhile now. While she has some educational games, we use the DS as a reward, so she has mostly "video" type games. She enjoys Pokeman (why I have no idea...LOL), Littlest Pet Shop, etc. She also has a couple games that are creative, like Fashion Designer. It allows her to be creative while doing something she enjoys (she is very artistic!).
My daughter just turned 6. Her favorites are her Build-a-Bear game, Mario Party, Littlest Pet Shop, Lovely Lisa, and Tinkerbell. =0)
They have learning games for the DS. our daughter 8 yrs old has been playing personal trainer math for a couple of years , they also have grade level spacific tutor programs for reading and a series of games called "Smart girl" "smart boy" and "Smart Kid".
She also enjoys the "Petz" games and nintendogs. She has lego indiana jones but it requires reading and she also says it is too difficult for her.
She likes Animal Crossing as well.
If it is a DS lite not a DSi they can also play Game Boy Advance games which have some younger kid games as well.

My daughter just turned 6 and her favorite is the Smart Girls Playhouse. I know there are several Smart Girls titles but Playhouse is the only one my daughter has yet. It has several different activities and there's no reading necessary.
Good luck,
K.
