Window Treatment Help

Does anyone have any suggestions on where to go to get window treatments? We moved into our house a little over a year ago and still have paper shades on some of the windows. It's driving me nuts! I've been to JC Penney, but I can't really find anything I like. And I've gone on a couple of websites, but I'd like to actually see the fabrics and swatches in person.

What can I do next?

Have worked in the window covering industry for the last 12 yrs. I would say be VERY careful buying on line. The warranties are not that great if any. I would say stay away from Home Depot for sure because they never get anything right. Eddie Z's is good, 3 Day Blinds, and Budget Blinds are very good, you may pay a bit more but the warranty is good. I know that 3 day blinds does some repairs in their showroom so you don't have to wait very long to get your blind back.

I ordered curtains for my family room from Eddie Z's. I am very happy with them. They come to your house with samples and take all the measurements, etc.

I just bought some light blocking cordless cellular shades from blinds.com for my 2 kid's rooms. There were very reasonably priced. You can order fabric swatches of anything on their site so you can be sure to color match & that you like the material.

We just bought a new house last year. Our house has huge windows, so I went to Bed, Bath & Beyond and got extra long decorative rods and drapes for the downstairs windows -- it was way cheaper that anything else since we didn't have much money after just buying the house. And I can change out the drapes easily if I get tired of them. I think they were $30/panel and I used 4 panels.

If you're looking at wood blinds, try Ikea. We bought some there that are very nice but were way cheeper than anywhere else.
