Do they make these that are a reasonable price? Do you have one? If so, would you recommend it? Why or why not?

What can I do next?

I found a few here:

As for value and if it's worth it, I have no idea, but I do recommend googling the product name or seeing if it's on amazon.com to read reviews.

My husband and I do Air Conditioning & Heating for a living, and I will advise you against a Window A/C Unit. They spend too much electricity, you will pay about 4 to 5 times the price over a period of 3 or 4 years, and the units with the required refrigerant 410A and Seers 13; 14 in some cities are expensive and most definitely not worth the price.
If you are looking for a heating system I will suggest you buy a ductless mini split those are super efficient, or any other source of forced air system.
I know they will seem a bit more expensive in the beginning, however with electricity costs a window unit will end up, as I said before, being much more expensive.

Hope you find this helpful.

I had one in a garage apartment because that is what the landlord put in.
It cooled and heated great in the living room where it was. I had to add fans to get the air back to the bedroom. I also used a space heater in the bedroom. I would recommend it for a single room that needed to be hotter or colder than the rest of the house only. It simply won't heat and cool more than one room. Also, make sure you change the filters. The landlord had not and it was moldy and gross which aggrevated my allergies and asthma.

They do offer ductless now(mitsubishi) and even restaurants are adding them to cool hot spots.

There is a government subsitidy on these forced air heaters so you can get it for 20% off. A friend of mine is buying one so she gave me the inside scoop last week.
