I dont know much about this or having and D&C personally. But i do believe as a woman that an D&C could have some kind of impact on being able to conceive after the womb has been under such an procedure. However, i wish you the best of luck.
I had a d&c 4 months ago, period comes on time like a clock, we ttc EVERY day , we used to use ky till I have heard it is not good ,so we stopped , but still can't get preg. We have 2 kids, so I know I can get preg.
Could it be because of the m/c or the d&c that I won't be able to get preg again?
Does anyone out there have the same problem as mine?
It is so frustrated, especially since time is not on my side...I am 42 and don't get any younger...
Please any suggestion...Thanks.

I had a similar problem after a miscarriage. It turned out my progesterone level had dropped to near 0. I had to take progesterone supplements and clomid to get and stay pregnant the next time. I later found out that low progesterone is one of the major causes of miscarriage too, although I think mine might have resulted from it. You may want to have your hormone levels checked. Also, if you look at the statistics, the number of good eggs drops pretty fast after age 35, so you may not be producing many usable ones by 42. I found a great device which I love. It's called the maybemom (www.maybemom.com). It's an ovulation predictor that uses your saliva to tell if you are ovulating and when to ttc. It worked really well before my miscarriage and after the progesterone, but when we were having trouble conceiving, it seemed to be a little off, which gave me a clue something was wrong. It's not expensive and really easy to do. I'm going to use mine to help us know when NOT to conceive too! Good luck.

Most likely your biggest obstacle is your age. The D & C and miscarriage should not make any difference unless the doctor messed up when he was cleaning you out. Also, you can only get pregnant a few days of the month, not every day.
Having said all that, I am 42 also and wouldn't want to get pregnant now because my cycles are starting to get erratic. I wish you the best. I have many friends who have three and four children in their 40s so it can certainly be done!

It is very possible that you are not ovulating. Lot of times we still have a period but are not ovulating. You are probably lacking progesterone. Arbonne has a natural one called Prolief that you can get that you rub on like a lotion. There have been women get pregnant by using it. Ck out the website at www.successfromtheheart.myarbonne.com.
I have heard that a D&C can cause scarring which can lead to infertility. While a D&C might be needed as a medical procedure, it is also the way people have abortions as well. From that literature, I know I have read that the D&C can cause scarring and can prevent people from having pregnancies later on. I hope this helps, and I really hope you get your baby!
Of course, make sure to ask your doctor about it too. They know a thing or two as well.
