Who Did You Catch Doing the Right Thing or Something Positive Today?

Seems we are a bit down on each other lately. Feels to me we are all collectively burned out. Thought focusing on our positive experiences might help:

I heard an apology by the program director of my favorite Radio Station this a.m. He could have quietly made changes but he went above and beyond, went on air and admitted he made a mistake in the changes he had made of late and is trying to right the situation.

The mother of my daughters best friend was going to have her daughters BDay party on my daughters BDay. I felt this could have been a losing battle so wasn't going to make a big deal over it. She came to the decision to have her daughters party earlier in the summer on her own.

I'll add more as I think about it. Need to get ready for an appt.

What can I do next?

I helped with my daughter's 2nd grade field day today. Another mom who was helping brought along her 4 year old daughter. We were running the "clothes relay" where kids have to put on shorts, shirts, a bikini top, hat, giant sunglasses and then run to a cone and back. This little sibling waited patiently in line - she wanted so badly to have a turn. But, sort of understandably, the older kids wanted their line to win, and were ignoring her. I was thinking about what to do (should I step in?) when one of the 2nd grades boys knelt down to her and asked "would you like a turn?" It was so thoughtful and sweet. I wish I knew his mother, because I'd tell her about it for sure!

Walking through Sams club parking lot, my 9 yr old son saw an empty cup laying on the ground. He says "People really shouldn't litter", so he brought it home & put it in the trash. (Wish he would pick up his own trash in the house)hahaha!!! Thanks for bringing the Positive!!!! Had to add this, My daughter is helping me clip coupons, & I said Thank you, you're doing a wonderful job. She says >>You're welcome, I like helping OLD people!!!!! My oldest (5) was supposed to be napping, but he snuck downstairs a few minutes ago while I was cleaning the guest room. He said, "Mama, I'm not sleepy. Can I help you clean instead? We have to get the room nice and clean for Uncle Steve!" I love it when he wants to help me do stuff as a way to spend time together :)

oh, I don't think we're down....I think we're all just filling in time & having a good laugh between cyberfriends. :)

The Positive: my son blew the gearbox on his bike...just 2 weeks before his 80miler with the Scouts. His Godfather has offered him the loan of his very expensive bike (insert fullbody cringe here, please....will the bike survive 5 days of Scout biking?). AND we have an offer from a man who used to own his own bike shop. He's going to take a look & advise whether or not the bike can be repaired....& will the repair withstand the 80 miles. We feel Blessed with these wonderful offers!

Oh, & we're not buying a replacement bike....because our son will be 16 next month & already has his 1st car. :)

My office is full of snackers. Fried, fatty, processed, as bad for you as possible food. Vendors come by all day offering us treats.

One vendor just came by with a big basket full of goodies to choose from.. Cookies, candy bars, chips and some healthy options like almonds, 100 calorie packs, Special K bars.

I am proud to say all 5 chose nuts and protien bars. Which prompted a discussion about healthy eating. What a proud moment.

I had a pretty brutal trip to the grocery store with my 2 and 5 yo DDs. When we got home an entire bag of groceries was missing. I called and of course they still had it. I explained to the lady that I had a very rough time with my kids and that getting out of the car and back into the store again was going to be very challenging so the woman agreed to come out to my car and give me my bag in the parking lot. It was a wonderful gesture and I was so thankful for her going that extra mile for someone.

I walked into the pharmacy and the cashier hollered out a welcome to me even though she was helping another customer. I needed that.
