the "darn good chocolate cake" is delicious and one of my go-to "recipes"....the chocolate cream cheese frosting is also really good.
I'm considering purchasing "the cake dr."
Which cake have you guys made from this book that was fabulous?
(I'm getting ready for my little girls' first big birthday bash. my baby will be one and my older daughter will be 4 . It will be the first real party for either of them. So I'm going all out. They each have a themed cake made with fondant ((6 " cake for baby, and cupcakes for daughter and kids)). Now I need one for my adult guests thats all about taiste)
Someone recomended the one make with chocolate and cherry filling with a chocolate sauce, some kind of bunt cake- don't know the name of it. Anyone else give that one a thumbs up.
Again, if you want to point me to a better cake book or recitpe, I'm all ears.
thx

The Hummingbird Cake -- YUM!
The darn good chocolate cake is great. Also they have an icecream cake which you use melted ice cream instead of eggs, oil and water. it is delisious! They have so many great recipes.
If it's all about flavor you should try this one: http://www.5dollardinners.com/2011/03/lime-cake.html?utm_...
I made it for my daughters birthday and ummm, it was delish! I remember saying "I'm sure gonna miss you when you're gone", LOL. It looks like I'll be making it again next month for my other daughters birthday but I may use orange gelatin instead. Yum!
i don't know about any "cake dr" :) but i have a couple suggestions:
