I just started in one and love it. It costs $20 a year. They match you with Moms with kids your child's age and you meet weekly at each other's homes, parks etc. There is also mother's night out events, entire family events and more!
A., check out www.momsclub.org. MOMS Club is a great organization, it's all about moms supporting other moms. Email them and tell them where you live (zip code, major cross streets) and they will email you back quickly w/ a contact for the club in your area. I recently moved to SA too, and since I had been in MOMS Club where I used to live, I knew I would be able to meet up w/ other moms to help me acclimate once I got here. Hope this helps!

Also, if you are from Colorado, then you need to check out Government Canyon State Park. It is just outside of 1604 on the West side of town. Nice hiking. We go there a good bit.
You might also try the local La Leche League in your area of town. (Just google la leache league of san antonio to find out the one closest to you.)

Maybe we could get together at the park on day with everyone that responds to this. I am part of a playgroup, but it seems the ages are so spread out that the activities are not always age friendly. I just moved here myself from California, actually a year ago, but still learning and experiencing San antonio more everyday. I have met a few people from mamsource. I am always opened to meeting moms with children myself. I am a stay at home mommy of two boys ages 18months & 2 and a half. I live in the north east side of San Antonio.
