I am looking for a playgroup for myself and my 3 year old son on the Northeast side of San Antonio. Wanting to get out of the house and meet new people.

Since I relocated hear about 1 yr ago, I have been a part of a meetup group called the north san antonio parents playgroup. It has awesome people and a calendar that is so full of events that many times we have more than 1 event scheduled each day. We have many 3 y/o kids as well. We also have bunco, parents/mom nights out and family events. This group has been a lifesaver for me. I was part of MOMS club where I previously lived and in my opinion/experience, meetup offers so much more than MOMS club. Check it out at meetup.com. Good Luck!
I would love to know about some as well, my son is 4 years old and he is the only child. The only thing is that I work full time outside the home and I need a playgroup that may meet on weekends or in the afternoons. Does anyone know of any groups like that? Plus I would love to meet other mothers in the area, I don't have any friends that have kids.

I am a new member of two playgroups through meetup dot com. The first is http://playgroup.meetup.com/1089/. This is a new small group of about 20 moms. Everyone is great. It may be a little too far NE for you. The second is a much larger group. http://sahp.meetup.com/53/ They cover the entire North SA area and have SAH moms and dads. They have many activities/playgroups/luncheons throughout the week. I haven't attended any of them yet though.
There is a nice playgroung on West Ave called Walkers Ranch Playground and I know alot of mom's who take their kids there. I think it's close to West Ave and Nokoma.
