P.G.
I had a nordstroms gift card so I went there. I found out I was a 32DDD - O M G! I bought a couple there, but I'm trying to find alternate locations cause they're just SO expensive. They did a nice job fitting.
I'm finally done nursing and want to get new bras. However, I can't seem to find ones that fit right. I tried getting a bra fitting at a couple of places in town, but their suggestion didn't seem to fit right (I'm probably about a 32 C, but that's hard to find around here). I'll be traveling to Chicago, Kansas City, and Minneapolis this summer. Any suggestions on places to go?

Nordstrom.... buy all my bra's there... I always ask the ladies to give me a call when they go on sale. And they do have some BIG sales going on in June & July
Nordstroms. Knowledgeable sales people and a very wide range of sizes and styles.
Nordstroms or Macys.
General rule: go down a band size and up a cup size.
Penney's I was a bra fitter for Penney's for 3.5 years. Penney's has specially trained associates for bra fittings. The also have 'The Bra Fit Event' several times a year, at this time they have a great sale on bras. It's a good idea to call and get an appointment but walk-ins are welcome, anytime. Just remember that even after you have a fitting not all bras are created equal, just because it's the same size as the other ones you buy it may not fit. You should try on bras before purchase. The fitters at Penneys are available for advice even if this isn't a fitting but a consolutation. If you have any concerns, sloping shoulders, uneven breast size, drooping ect the bra fitter on duty can advise you.
If you wear a size 8 shoe not all size 8s will fit you comfortabely, bras are the same way.
Nordstrom. They have a huge range of sizes and I found they're really accurate in fittings. I'm a 32G and had been going around in a 36D! Made a tremendous difference getting the right fitting AND having access to bras in my strange size (places like Victoria's Secret and SOMA think I'm a freak and don't come close to having my size). Nordstom was able to show me a ton of styles in my size.
I can't offer suggestions on a place but there was a What Not To Wear episode about bras. One of the most important fit tips I learned about was that the band should be tight around your rib cage. Stacy used the example that you should not be able to pull the band more than an inch or two off your back. I'm guessing that most people should go with a smaller band and a larger cup. I find trying on a range of sizes works. They also said that when you try on a bra always use the smallest hook because the bra will stretch over time. Good-luck.
I like Bali's bra fittings but really most anywhere that sells them fits them. I also like Fredrick's of Hollywood MUCH better than Victoria's Secret.
dont bother with Allure-poor fitting-insanely expensive-no returns at ALL-
Try Nordstom or Von Maur-at least they have sales and people who know what they're doing.
I know its a far drive for you, but I work at Allure Intimate Apparel. There is a store in Maple Grove and St. Paul. We specialize in bra fittings. We measure you while you are wearing a bra and then we grab the bras we think will work the best for you. Then if your comftorable with it, we stay in the fitting room with you and help you in and out of the bras. This way we can see how the bra is fitting you. Most women are wearing too loose of a band (which causes it to ride up your back) and too small of a cup (which causes you to bubble over) We carry from a 30C to a 44H. You do not need an appointment but weekends can get pretty busy. You can check out the website at www.allurefits.com. there are also 2 stores in Wisconsin as well. We have had sooo many happy women who walk out of the store feeling like a new woman. I would highly recommend coming in!
Try Soma Intimates. They have locations in all three of the places you mentioned. I LOVE their product. Pretty and sexy--more sophisticated than Victoria's secret, and a better product.
I've had a couple of fittings at Victoria Secret (when I gained/lost weight and needed a new size) and they were always exactly correct. More importantly to me I was not uncomfortable during the fitting. I had one done at Fredrick's of Hollywood and they told me the correct size, but I was uncomfortable during the fitting. I still shop at both stores, but only do a fitting at Victoria Secret.
Another great place where I was properly fitted was Von Maur in Eden Prairie Center. (Not sure where you'll be in the Minneapolis area, but if you're in the southwest metro, I'd suggest you check it out.) Like a couple of the others who offered their thoughts, I had been improperly fitted for many years, and now couldn't be happier. Unfortunately, most other places don't carry a 32DD, but at least I know I can go back to Von Maur, or perhaps I'll check out Nordstrom's next time! Good luck!
I just googled "bra fitting Plano" and it came up with a couple of places....
I went to Loretta's Intimates and was very satisfied...
Even though I had to find out I was actually a 36FF and not a 42 DD...I'm happy I did go there....makes a HUGE difference !!!!!
I just recently went to Intimacy for a free bra fitting. The service was great and the girls working there were patient with all of my naive questions. They also have all kinds of shapewear and random merchandise to care for and enhance your undergarments. There are two stores located in the Chicago area - one right downtown on Michigan Avenue and one in the suburbs at Oak Brook mall.
Allure in Maple Grove or Nordstrom. I've never used Allure but heard great things. Nordstrom has always been great for me. In case you might be looking, there is also a place in Edina now that also fits for bathing suits. My friend did it and said they were great. I plan on going soon.
I just found Soma...love it!! They are pricey, but very good quality! They have many sale events, one is ending tomorrow. My boobs are finally located in the correct position, and my back doesn't hurt so much. A good bra makes such a difference! Best of luck!
I'm in the exact situation. Just finished nursing and had no clue what my bra size would be now. I assumed I was a 34C. A friend suggested Nordstroms. I went and was fitted by a knowledgeable sales staff (unlike a typical 18 yr old at Victoria's Secret). Found out I'm a 32B---(I guess my little ones sucked a little extra boob out of me!) You stay in the dressing room while they bring you several styles to try on. They come into the dressing room with you to double check the fit. I left with the best fitting bra! I'll be going there again.
