We are in the Hinsdale/Western Suburbs area. Where is the best place to shop for a flower girl's dress? It is going to be a mid-october wedding. And, my very petite daughter will be 5 yrs and 4 months old. She is barely a size 4 and narrow throughout. Also any suggestions as to what style to shop for? Thanks!

What can I do next?

for the life of me i can't remember the website but it's a rental site for dresses/tuxes for kids. you can probably google it. if it's in your budget there is a bridal shop in downtown hindsdale that has adorable flower dresses.

Hi J.,

My girls were flower girls last September and I got my dresses on line at www.mygirldress.com. Very good quality. The dresses are cream, if you want you can have my older daughters dress. She was four when she wore it and it was only worn for the day. It has a removable sash, so you can get a matching sash. I can e-mail you a picture if you want.

It's a bit of a drive, but well worth it...how would you like to pay around $30-$50? There are wholesale shops at Montrose and Clark in Chicago. (Take Lakeshore drive to Montrose, head west and turn right on Clark) I've always gotten great deals there and I bought my daughter's baptismal dress plus shoes and a little bonnet for about $35. You'll also find jewelry shops and purses and other accessories very inexpensive.

My daughter and niece were just flowergirls in my brother's wedding. We found their dresses at JcPenney's. We bought them around Christmas because the wedding was red/black/white for the colors, and those were in season at the time. We only paid around $20. Believe it or not, we also found cute dresses at Sam's Club. They aren't the typical flowergirl dresses, but cute little girl dresses that matched the colors and can be worn again for another special occasion.

After going to all the local bridal stores (David's, etc.) and a few department stores (Nordstrom, Carson's, Macy's, etc.) we ended up searching for 'flower girl dresses' online.

The site we ended up finding a dress on was

http://flowergirldresses.boutique4kids.com

They give the waist, length and chest measurements for each dress size (not just one size as an example) which was vital to make sure you get a good fit. It turned out that my daughter needed a size much larger than I would have ever imagined. It fit perfectly though!

Overall, great service and price, great quality dress, and, most importantly, the bride and the flower girl (my daughter) loved the dress!

Good luck!

Strausberg Children has an outlet in Aurora at the Chicago Premium Outlets (right off 88) that has the most beautiful special occasion dressing and the people who work there are incredibly helpful.
