Try MacMahon Shoes on Highway 78 and 124 it is in a strip mall area, near the bank. They had wide size shoes and can order shoes for you in a reasonable amount of time. Good luck.
My son outgrew his 10 1/2 Wide shoes, we went to StrideRite, but their 11 is too big and 10 1/2 is too small. So we need a new place to buy him shoes. I went to Kohl's, there were almost no shoes left, only one style in wide, and certainly not in his size. Also, I would like to stay away from fake leather since it makes you sweat a lot/feet can't breathe.
Also, I have been very frustrated shopping for shoes for my 1 year old girl, almost all shoes are made with fake leather. Have any of you had problems with your kids with this kind of shoe? Since your feet can't breathe in them, they would be very hot and uncomfortable for summer. And cold and clammy for winter. I want to buy her some playground shoes where mulch can't get in, canvas sneakers would be great. But I have looked and can't find any. She already has sandals and crocs.
Thanks for your help.

Have you tried going to Rackroom Shoes?
My son has been wearing canvas Converse and Vans since his first pair of shoes, some with velcro and some slip-on. I think we saw knockoffs at Target.
My son wears mostly Stride Rites too but we've occasionally bought shoes from Kmart. The Thom McAn brand has a lot of wide shoes (especially sandals), some with real leather, and they hold up very well.
Abbaddabbas has great kids shoes -Merrels, Converse, Keen etc. that are made with leather and canvas. The girl's high top Converse in pink are so cute! REI also has some good kid shoes that aren't fake. Nordstrom stores (at least the Phipps one) and Nordstrom online as well as Zappos.com also have TONS of kids shoes -canvas and leather. Zappos has a gazillion Vans canvas slip on shoes that are so cute for boys or girls.
I'd go ahead and buy him the 11s. He'll grow into them.
