I'm not sure of what the norm is .. .I think its 12 weeks..
But after my 2nd child, I didn't get my 1st one until 6 months after!
I did not nurse at all.
:)
Congrats on the new baby :)
Hi ladies, I had my third child almost 11wks ago. Due to 3 breast biopsies (cancer scare) my milk has never come in, therefore I have never been able to nurse my children. My period would re-start between 8-10wks after I had my baby, however I yet to get my period. I'm just wondering how long it look those of you who didn't nurse for your period to re-start. Getting a little worried. Thanks!

it can take up too 3 - 6 months after having a baby to get your period.
I did/do not nurse my son and he was born December 4th 2009. I got my first period January 10th. With my daughter, however, I had to be on birth control to get my period normal and when I went off it it went crazy again...turns out I have hypothyroidism as a result of the hormone craziness after the birth of my daughter and that is why it got so irregular. I now take a synthetic hormone and this time my period stayed very regular. I did not nurse either of kids.
Hey,
I wasn't able to breastfeed either and I had my baby Oct 4th. I got my period about 2 1/2 months after I had her. You will probably get it sometime soon :-)
I think it varies each time. I did nurse all of my children and my periods started 9, 9, 12 and 18 months after. It got later after each child. I'm about to have my 5th and I'm pushing 40 so I'm hoping I never get another period again... =) (ha ha ha)
Good luck to you and Congratulations on your precious new child!
