If you know the source of your stress you need to eliminate it, a pill doesnt do that. The pill is for when there really isnt anything wrong with your life and you feel depressed.
I suggest exercise, it works the stress out pretty well.
Eliminate the source. Life is too short to have a partner that continually makes your life miserable, seriously.
I think the pill you are looking for is called boyfriendbegone.

Depression medicine is not one size fits all so you will need to see your physician for a plan that is best for you.

If your boyfriend is the source of your stress and depression you need to dump him and move on.

Dr. Phil says, "Get rid of all the toxic people in your life." You would be amazed how unneeded drama can lead to a very stressful life. I would start an exercise program and get a clear head and make yourself strong and happy and you will make the right decision. I always find my best way to destress and think is when I do yoga or cardio exercise (running, walking, stair climbing.)

There are dozens...probably more...medicines for depression. There are 2 things you can do right away. 1. You can visit with your Dr. and get a referral to a psychologist, to be evaluated for depression. 2. Leave the toxic relationship with your boyfriend and have a more peaceful life. If you feel #2 is not an option for you, #1 is something you should do right away.

Excercise........walk, jog, run, dance, swim, anything to get your heart pumping. It may not sound like fun to you, but it is proven to increase your natural endorphins. Yoga. Spend time with girlfriends. Try to laugh more....see funny movies. Read.....escape into a good book. Go to church. Keep a "gratitude" journal (an Oprah suggestion).....writing down all the little things you're grateful for each day helps remind you of all the wonderful, positive things in life. Volunteer......it's been proven that helping others makes you feel better about yourself. Spend less time on the computer......ie) facebook.

Even if a doctor prescribes an anti depressant, you have to be monitored closely because some of them have been know to cause suicidal thoughts.
If you keep doing the same things with the same people and you keep feeling depressed, then stop doing those same things with the same people.
You can't expect different results if you keep doing the same things.

There is a big difference between situational depression (feeling down because you are going through a rough stretch) and clinical depression (recurring, lasting over three months). However, taking 600-900 mg of St. John's Wort everyday can help as much as a prescribed anti-depressant.

Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St_John's_wort says:
St John's wort is widely known as a herbal treatment for depression. In some countries, such as Germany, it is commonly prescribed for mild depression, especially in children and adolescents.[5]
A report from the Cochrane Review states,
The available evidence suggests that the Hypericum (St. John's wort) extracts tested in the included trials a) are superior to placebo in patients with major depression; b) are similarly effective as standard antidepressants; and c) have fewer side effects than standard antidepressants.

Counseling, nutrition, exercise. Antidepressants help some people but there are many of them, and recent studies show that they don't help all that much except in very severe cases. I've had clinical depression for many years, and have taken medication for the past 17 years, BUT with limited results. I found counseling helpful, losing toxic relationships (as a previous poster suggested) essential, and exercise wonderful. I have totally changed my nutrition with balanced supplementation and high absorption (plus great customer care from the company), and am feeling so wonderful that I have reduced my antidepressants (with my doctor's cooperation and guidance) and will soon be eliminating them entirely.

One reason you are depressed is that you do not feel in control of your life and relationship. You may not be able to change him - you can only change yourself. But definitely take action!

Good luck.
