what else do you have on hand??

Cheesy Taco Pasta
Ingredients:
1 box Penne Pasta
1 lb 95% lean ground beef
1 lb sausage
1 oz packet taco seasoning
1 ½ c chunky salsa
½ c water
¼ c sour cream
¾ c shredded cheddar cheese
¾ c shredded sharp cheddar cheese (I used extra sharp)
Salt & pepper to taste

Directions:
1. Cook pasta according to package instructions.
2. While pasta is cooking, place ground beef in a large sauté pan and cook over medium-high heat, breaking up the beef as it cooks. When the beef is cooked, drain any grease from pan. Add the taco seasoning, salsa and water and reduce heat to simmer. Simmer for 5 minutes or until pasta is done cooking.
3. Once pasta is done, drain pasta and add it to the beef mixture. Add the sour cream, cheese, salt and pepper and stir to combine. Cheese will melt when thoroughly mixed. Remove from heat and serve immediately.

Beefy Enchiladas
Use the hamburger (I use sausage as well)
Chunky Salsa
cook the meat - add meat to flour tortillas
cover with salsa or enchilada sauce
then cover with shredded cheese
bake for 30 minutes at 350
Serve with Spanish rice and beans

Salisbury Steaks
Make the hamburger into patties, cook/fry
in a separate pan, mix brown gravy with mushrooms
last five minutes of cooking "steaks" add gravy - let simmer.
Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, buttered noodles and a veggie

There's a lot you can do. Would help to know what you have on hand!!

Shepherds pie.
Hamburger, gravy and veggies. I open a can of mixed vegetables but you can use whatever your family will eat. Cook up the meat and mix that all together and put in a casserole dish or a cake pan or a glass sheet cake type thing. Put a good helping of mashed potato on top, enough to completely cover the meat below. You can even sprinkle on shredded cheese on top of that. Put the whole thing in the oven until the potatoes are a nice golden brown and everything is a little bubbly.
I would look online to find a little better recipe with some more details. I learned from my mother in law and her instructions were very old school "a little of this and a little of that and when it looks like this" LOL

Hamburger soup has been a family favorite at our house for years!

The way we make it is with 2 lbs hamburger, browned, drain off the fat after it is browned, add 2 quarts of water, dice potatoes, onion, carrots, celery, garlic, and usually add some brown rice or barley. We also add tomatoes, but not everyone likes that.

Add some dried thyme, oregano, salt and pepper to taste, and simmer for 30 minutes or until the veggies (and rice) are cooked.

My family likes soup, though... some kids don't.

Another family favorite has been sloppy joes...... use either a commercial mix, or make your own....

I am not a cook ... so I'm not sure how healthy this is or anything but it is a hit with most everyone at my house. I found it in one of those Campbell soup recipe books

Cheeseburger Pasta:

1 lb ground beef
1 can tomato soup
1 can cheddar soup
1 1/2 cups water
and 2 cups uncooked med shell pasta (I use macaroni)

1. cook beef over med/high heat till browned
Pour off fat

2. Add rest of the ingredients and bring to a boil, then cook over med heat for 10 minutes or till pasta is done. Stir often.

It's really basic - it's my don't feel like cooking meal

Enchiladas are big hits in our house - we put all kinds of stuff in them (great for using up leftovers!) - peppers, onions, frozen corn, various beans (refried, black, red, pinto), cheese (cheddar or Mexican/taco style), tomatoes, sometimes frozen peas. You can adjust for people who don't like certain things or just use in any combination without a specific recipe.

If you want something sort of fun to look at, google "taco ring" with ground beef and crescent roll dough. That's fun for parties too.

Stuffed peppers with rice or barley. You can use green, red, orange, yellow peppers.

American chop suey - throw in more veggies too.

Chili with beans and veggies.

Stuffed zucchini boats.

Lasagna rolls.

I use regular plain tomato puree or crushed tomatoes for many of the recipes, then add my own spices (chili powder for chili, coriander and cumin for the enchilada sauce) and I add some tomato and spices to the water for any rice I make as a side dish.

Shepard's Pie is a favorite in my house. We also do Tator Tot Casserole, Beef Rice-a-Roni with a pound of hamburger and a can of corn - top with cheese and salsa, unstuffed peppers (or stuffed), taco soup, and more. That's where my brain is stopping right now though :).

Shepherd's Pie, Stroganoff (I actually prefer ground beef to the sliced beef usually found in this) chili, Pioneer Woman's Hamburger Soup (yum, google that!) meatballs with bbq sauce, ramen or other Asian noodle soup/bowl, taco salad or enchiladas/quesadillas, lettuce wraps.
My kids like fried rice with hamburger though I much prefer chopped ham or pork for that.
