What to Give for Halloween? Think This Was Just Asked but Can't Find It

I thought i saw this question with in the last month but i don't know how to find it easily, tried the search box with the key word Halloween.

Treats that i send to school, i try to stay away from candy, i do playdough or little notebooks, or homebaked cookies.
And dont' mind spending a little bit more if i have to.
But for trick or treating, with the Candy Fairy and the treat buy back stuff that dentists do and everything, I am wondering Why i am still buying tons of candy to give out if no one wants that anymore, and what do they want instead??? Obviously the kids want it, But if their parents are just going to throw it away , that seems super wasteful to me. I can get the candy relatively cheaply under $20 for our neighborhood for like 8 small bags or so. So any alternative would need to be rather cheap.

FYI, we personally save our candy and portion it out for several months.sinse i don't feel that eliminating ALL candy all together is necessary, but i also don't leave it out and eat it as a meal. well unless its a reese cup just kidding.

No costco by us so that wouldn't work, BUT I have to admit i am a total airhead and Forgot that i had stocked up on Tattoos last yar at walmart, i got the halloween bag of them for lijke a quarter a bag, Now to dig them out from where i stashed them. I am soooo glad i asked this and got the response of tatoos before went out and bought candy. you mama's are great!!

What can I do next?

I have a lot of kids come through my neighborhood. I love Oriental Trading and I give out glowing bouncing balls, glow necklaces and bracelets.

I am also known for the mom who gives out the real (regular sized) candy bars as well.

So, I am evil because I dish out the candy bars mom and dad love along with fun non candy items kids love.

We still give candy.. I like Raisinettes.. and I also give out Tattoos..

I always try to purchase the individual sealed bags of popped popcorn that Costco has, but they always sell out. I am going tomorrow, so if I see them I am grabbing them..

Along the CostCo idea what about Teddy Grahams, Goldfish crackers, fruit snacks, Rice Crispy Treats, etc. that are individually wrapped? I'd definitely keep those for the kids lunchboxes!

We are new to the "peanut allergy" thing this year, so ANYTHING with an ingredients list on it is great for me.

Besides, if you get the "snacks" at CostCo you can give them in your own kids' lunches too.

when I was in college I used to have a bucket of Halloween themed pencils and a bucket of candy and the kids could take either or both. Most kids picked the pencils, which I thought was odd, but enjoyed as I got to eat the extra candy.

After Halloween each year I buy tons of pencils, stickers, tatoos, spider rings, bubbles, and whatever else they have. I get it all 75% off and save it for the next year. When Halloween rolls around again I buy a few bags of candy and make small goody bags with the toys and like one or two pieces of candy. It's pretty inexpensive if you get everything (except the candy) on clearance ahead of time.

You should look into Oriental Trading Company online. They have tons and tons of candy, toys, etc. (Halloween themed) sold in bulk. Their prices are way reasonable, too.

I saw you already you answered your question, but to add to the tattoos suggestion. If you don't find them, I found them relatively cheap at Target next to the Halloween eyeball, spider rings etc. I think they were a 20 pack for 4.00. Which is like what 20 cents each? I figured it wasn't too bad of a deal!

If you don't want to give out candy, or perhaps not as much candy, you can always buy a couple of bags of cheap Halloween novelty toys online at www.orientaltrading.com to hand out to the trick-or-treaters or for your parties at school.
