Ok my son wil be one on thursday. He was 7 weeks premature so i really try to let him go at his own pace on everything, which most of the time is actully faster than what would be expected. My problme is that he does not want to eat baby food anymore, he was eating #3 foods. But at the same time he does not want to eat what vry one else is eating most of the time. He still will eat is ceral in the morning with the #2 fruit mixed in. He also loves the gerber lil crunchies, cherios, animal crackers and teddy grahms sometimes he will eat what some one else is eating but we have to feed it to him. he does know how to put things in his mouth, he finds things on any floor no matter how clean i think it is or was. Can some one please give me advice on what to do.

I have been supplementing with formula so that he is still getting th nurisment he needs.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you all for your advice. he is doin better he is eating what e eat most of the time. He still wont eat the gerber graduates patas, i guess they are a little bland. but he love spagetti. And he has finally decided that feeding himself is muc more fun. He was even trying to figure out how to poke a piece of chicken with a fork the other day. my husband helped him and then my son pulled the chicken of the fork to put it in his mouth.

both my babies were done with baby food by about 10 months. There is no law that says they must eat that stuff (or the toddler foods from Gerber either for that matter). Just feed your guy what you are eating. BUT...make sure he's getting his 5 servings of fruits and veggies and that you are giving him things that are appropriately cut up, mashed, or sized for his little body.

PS: try the YoBaby yogurt. Get the kind that you spoon feed to him. It has cereal and fruit mixed in and is so yummy!

Carb needs are different for babies than adults - just make them good carbs - not simple or too processed.

Enjoy! You little man is growing up! :)A.

I got the best advice from my pediatrician during my 14 month olds picky stage (about the same time as your son). He said to let him eat as much as he wants, or as little as he wants. He would go through phases of wanting a lot or hardly any.

My son too got tired of baby food. He loves the Gerber graduates foods, but it took giving them to him over and over and he finally aquired a taste for all of the them. He loves cheese ravioli without sauce, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, bread with butter, diced frozen veggies that I boil (carrots, peas, green beans). His favorite food is grilled cheese.

I just constantly tried everything I could think of. But remember that it takes anywhere from 10 to 15 times of eating a food before you know if you like it. Stick with it!

Sounds like you are doing great. If he is not eating the baby food then just start serving him what you are eating (as appropriate!). My third rejected baby food from the start so he was on table food from the very beginning which was easier in the long run. I just kept him on formula a little longer so I was sure he was getting a complete meal. Don't get discouraged...some kids just are picky and some just take a while to get with the program! As long as what you are giving him is good, healthy food, he is going to do great.

My son will also be 1 on Thursday! If he is not interested in the #3 food anymore, maybe try the gerber graduates food. They have a really good mashed potato blend with veggies that my son loves. They also have a sweet potato/carrot blend that is very sweet and tastes good. I didn't really feed my son too much baby food. I made my own. He is probably going through a stage where he is just being picky. I would say (and I am not an expert) but just let him the things he still enjoys. Keep trying with the other foods. He will come around.
