My 11 month old has been real good about sleeping unitl about 7 AM until the past couple of weeks, when she started waking about 5:45 or 6 AM. I've read past posts and have tried putting her down ealier (bedtime is now 7 PM, previously 7:30 or 7:45). It helped once, but then the next day she was up at 6 AM again. I just wondered when everyone else put their baby to bed. Earlier than 7 seems awful early to me.

What can I do next?

I (still do) have always liked putting my children down a little later so they sleep later. At 11m I had mine in bed by 7:30-45, and at 22 months the time is the same. He usually sleeps till 8.

My kids also start getting ready for bed by 7:30-45. My 20 mo is ready and goes right down and we let our 3 1/2 year old play with his leapster for 15 min (then he seems to talk and sing for at least 45 min :-))

My older son gets up between 6:30-7:30 and my little guy sleeps untim 9:00 if we let him. They just go in and out of spurts, your daughter may sleep until 10:00 next week!

Good Luck!

My daughter is 26 months, and I put her down at 7p-7:30p, and she wakes at 7:30-8p in the morning. It seems counterintuitive, but the earlier I put her down at night, within reason, the later she sleeps in the morning. I also put her down earlier in the evenings, if she has decided it is a nap strike day so in that way she is getting 13-14hours of sleep in a 24 hour period. If not, I have a super cranky kid on my hands.

Wow I guess we are just late people. My two boys who are 3 1/2 and 18mo go to sleep around 12a.-1a. and then we all don't wake till like 10:30-11 but it always seems the earlier they go to sleep the earlier they wake up. (The reason we are night people is because my hubby works 2nd shift and I am a SAHM. so we try to spend all the time we can as a family.) When we have early Dr. Appts I try to tire them out really really fast take baths and get to bed EARLY!! I know that really doesn't help about your early question.

My 18 month old goes to bed at 6:30 and wakes at 7:00. He is happier and seems to get better sleep as he is not overly tired. Then takes a daily nap at 11:00 - 1:00. This works for us.

My 3yr and 4 1/2yr olds go to bed at 7pm. They wake up about 8am. It really depends what time the afternoon nap ends though. Kids should be awake for 4 hours after naptime before bedtime. That's what I have read anyway. My 4 1/2 yr old does not nap anymore, but my 3 yr old does. He naps from 1:30-3pm. I wake him at 3pm if he does not wake on his own. Both boys sleep through the night w/o any problems and are happy and rested during the day.

We start bath at 7:30, then it's Little Bear, a book, a bible story and bed. So I'd say 8:15.
My son wakes up at the same time no matter what I do to his bedtime.
