I'm looking for some creative ideas on what guests should sign at the baby shower. I've seen the photo mat, but would like other ideas. I don't think she has her baby book yet, so we can't sign that. Any ideas would be appreciated! Thank you!

Holly wins the prize!! I love the idea of the scrapbook page with signatures around the invitation. I might even try to make a scrapbook for her *gulp* but even if I can't do it the signed page will be great.
THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!

I think I saw a post that was along the same lines. But for the baby showers I have hosted I get a cute memory book/ pretty journal form Barnes Nobles or some place like that. Then have a theme, like sharing advice, or best parenting advice that their moms gave them, and have each person write in a couple pages and sign it. Then its really something interesting for the mom to read, and something for the baby down the road. Maybe mom gives it to them at their baby shower. I know its less crafty, but I think its a very memorable way to catpure the names at the baby shower.
At my baby shower, everyone signed a hooded baby towel w/ fabric markers. It's cute
How about a scrap book piece of paper with in invitation glued in the middle and the guests can sign around it. Then the mother can add it to her baby book when she gets it.
I know you found your winner - but my sister had everyone sign a pillowcase for me and put their wishes to me and my baby. I used it in the hospital. Even my husband signed it - it was great.
I sell creative memories. We have precious scrapbooking stuff. visit my website www.mycmsite/kerrycurry
If she doesn't have a baby book yet, I suggest getting with her or her mother to make sure she has one for guests to sign at the baby shower. Pretty much every baby book has the guest sign in page.
I did this for my wedding, but it'd work great for a babyshower. What I did since I knew I'd be making a wedding scrap book, I made several blank pages and had the guests signed that. You can find some really cute "pre-made" scrap books for babies, infact I saw some very cute, very inexpensive ones at Big Lots! Good luck

Hi T.. I was at Party City the other night and they had the cutest pillows made into the shape of bottles and they had blue for boys and pink for girls and you can sign them. I thought that was such a neat idea b/c that is something that Mom can keep always and also put in the baby's crib. Hope this helps.

When I was at Joann's I saw premade quilts that guests can sign. I would check it out. I thought it was a great idea.
Buy cloth diapers/burp rags and have the guests decorated. A friend did it for my shower 5 years ago. I have passed it down to many new mommy's. My daughter loves looking through her baby things! Just buy fabric markers and it is sooo much fun to see what people come up with. I usually get a pretty basket, fold the burp rags, then tie them with a pretty ribbon. Sometimes a few people can decorate one. It's cheaper that way. They are really cute.
The girls who threw my babyshower for my son put together a small Creative Memories album for me and each person did sign one page, that way it's a seperate album from his other one......and I loved it :)
We are doing a belly cast a few days befor my shower and the guests will paint it or sign it... we did onw with my daughter and it is really sweet... I'm going to hang them both up in my room over my rocking chair and bookshelf.
ceramic piggy bank for the baby- find them at craft stores and use a permanent marker
Hi, not sure if you have time to do this one. I'm a photographer and this is something I do for my wedding clients, but it could work for a baby shower also. If she has maternity portraits taken have them made into a small coffee table book with one picture on each page and plenty of white space for people to sign in. If she didn't have any taken offer to do some for her then look online there are places to have pictures made into coffee table books.
Good Luck!
With my last child, I did a belly cast. The guests at my shower signed the inside of the cast. I also had the nurses in my doctors sign it and the doctor who delivered my precious baby boy. Belly casts are fun and a great way to remember your pregnancy.
I make visitor sign-in frames for events such as these. I made one for my sister when she had her baby. It had the baby's name on the top, "My First Visitors" on the bottom, and a framed space in the middle for his picture. I did the format in their nursery theme and it was VERY well liked by everyone who signed it! I also made one for my boss's farewell reception. These are great gifts - I know you can probably make it yourself, but if you need one made, or know of anyone who does, just let me know. I charge $15. Thanks!!
Why not get her the book as a gift? Or you could do one of those ceramic plates. I saw them at bridal shows when I was getting married. I know you said Something other than the picutre frame, but you could take her sonogram, blow it up and put it in the frame for people to sign the mat.
My best friend went and bought squares of fabric and had everyone sign in the middle of each square. I did not know why she did that. At the hospital when I daughter was born...she presented me with a BEAUTIFUL Signature Quilt. You could sew them together or have someone else do it. It hangs in her room and will always be cherished!!
If you have a small number of attendees, sign a onesie or the mother's belly then take good pictures of that. If there will be more people, you could sign a baby blanket (Target sells thin cotton ones) or a wall border that goes around the nursery or across a section of wall.
Just some ideas.
At mine a friend gave me a build-a-bear that was made for everyone to sign. My daughter is 7.5 now and I still have it!
What about a plate?

They come with special pens and you bake them after to set the signatures.
A onesie! Buy a baby book for her then and have the guests sign that! How about a hand decorated "tote" bag, decorated for a baby one side, then the other side signed by guests. She could use this as a diaper bag, hold all bag, toy bag for when the baby gets older......How about making a placemat, sign on one side decorate on the other and laminate it.
For a friend's shower I bought a small photo album and gave everyone notecards. I had some baby-related scrapbook stickers and head each person pick a topic (everything from one-month to daddy to crying, etc.). They wrote a piece of advice on the topic (serious or funny was fine) and signed the card. I placed each of the cards in the photo slots of the album and presented it to the mommy-to-be as her go-to-guide for baby advice. It was a great way to get everyone to sign in and give mom some practical advice.
It looks like you've gotten some great advice already!
Ditto for the squares of fabric. I'm a quilter, and I've done this for several friends, and they loved it and have them proudly displayed in the baby's room.
At my wedding (before I started quilting) I had really pretty small white cards that had gold around the edges. I had the guests write us advice and they could do as many as they wanted. I had colorful pens in the wedding colors available for them to use, and a pretty glass bowl to put them into when they were done. Ahead of time, I had cut cardstock that was in the wedding colors and we cut squares that were 1/4" or so bigger and used pretty corner punches that would decorate the edges and provide a spot to slide the white card into. Once I got my wedding photos back, my mom, mother-in-law and some friends took a day to decorate a bunch of pages and put the photos and the advice cards together, with some other fun stamps and stickers. We left room so that I could go back and journal my thoughts about that day. It's really fun to look through and see all the great advice that was given to us, instead of just a bunch of signatures. And since they match the wedding colors, I spread them through the book with our photos.
