Hello moms,
Just curious what self-tanners you like and which I should avoid. I am desperately wanting a little color (on my legs, mostly) and I know I need to avoid the sun's UVA/UVB rays. Plus, who has the time??

Hi, I thought I loved my Jergens glow...until I tried Avon's self tanner lotion (very similar product). Avon's is absolutely WONDERFUL!

I haven't tried it myself, but I've heard good things about Sevin Nyne. It's a mist that Lindsey Lohan "developed" (sure!) and it can be found at Sephora for $35. They were talking about it on the Today Show and said it's great b/c it's a mist (you don't have to rub it in), it's actually a bronzer too (it tans when you put it on...you don't have to wait to get darker) and it does not smell at all like typical tanner. If you try it, let me know if you like it. I've been wanting to get it myself.

I have been very happy with the Jergens tanning lotion. Just get the right one for your skin type and be sure to wash your hands after application. I have used it all over my body except for my face but I believe they now make one for the face as well.

I used Jergens last year and didn't realize until I was in a wedding that I had and orangish streaky lines around my ankles and calves. Wan't impressed with it.

I have been to the tanning spa and had the "original" spray on Mystic Tan. They work well, but don't last very long & considering the price are not worth it IMO. I have also used many of the OTC products like Jergens and Olay. They are cheaper but I don't like the smell - they have a strong tanner smell to them. I am a Mary Kay consultant, so when MK added a self tanner last year I was doing cartwheels! It is cheaper than some and a little more than others, plus it has a much nicer smell. There is still a slight "tanner" smell to it in the background, but there are tropical sunnier smells on top that I think are really yummy. Like all lotions, you have to be careful to rub it in well and not add a lot in the elbow, knee, heel areas; however, I have had much less streaking or orange-looking areas compared to other brands. Good luck & definitely talk to your Doc first!

Try Air Brush Tan. it comes in a spray can you can get it @ Walgreens in the hosiery section. When you spray it on smooth it out for a better finish while it's still wet or it can dry streaky. Also do it outside in a place you don't mind it getting messy. It is very washable but it takes forever to get out of concrete. Because you're pregnant, I would ask a Dr. about what would be safer to use until after you give birth. Also read the warnings on any product you use. Congrats BTW!!

I really like Strike Gold at Bath and Body Works. Have tried several but that is the most subtle and goes on more even than others.

I use Aveda Sun Source and I love it. I have had a lot fewer streaks and no orange! You can purchase it at an Aveda Salon, or another salon that sells Aveda products.

Good Morning P., Self tanners for me turn me orange or streak, EXCEPT for Olay Body Touch of Sun. It is great.
You can use it daily after a shower or any time. It gently adds color to your skin. I have used it on my face and all over the Ole Bod. It's like a regular lotion, do wash your hands after, and your heels or around the edges of your feet. I have used this for the last 3 yrs. Won't be switching since I found something that really does a great job.
Best thing is Olay has one for the face only, but I just use what I have and NO make up (foundation)needed in summer time
God Bless

I've used several & I don't go for the lotions. the main one that I used that I actually didn't mind was Sally Hansen's spray on self tanner. It may have been primarily for the face (I don't remember - it came in a gold can last summer, approx. $7) but I used it everywhere & as long as you didn't hold your hand in one spot while spraying I didn't have any streaks. I could also control how much I got around my knees, ankles, elbows,as these areas seem to suck the lotions in. Good luck!

I have a lotion that works fine. It doesn't make you orange and it is lotion for moisture too. You have to be careful to get the right skin tone so you don't get orange, but other than that I haven't had any trouble with streaks or etc. I think Dove makes it but I am not sure. I think there are a couple of different brands out there now. My mom and sister used a different one and told me about it and I bought this one on accident. They are happy with theirs too.

I loved the Tan Towel. It is like a baby wipe that you wipe all over and voila...a tan! It doesn't have a funny smell and works great! I got mine at S-Scents in Leawood, I'm not sure where else they're sold...I do think Beauty Brands sells them.

I also agree, you might want to consult your doc or google the main ingredients before you use a self tanner if you're pregnant. Some things can be absorbed and you just want to make sure it's safe!

Hi my name is T. Billington and I am a rep for BeautiControl. I have a mobile spa business. I have the same spa treatments and anti-aging products that you can get at your local spas for 1/3 of the cost. I know that you do not know me and you get bombarded with all of the other direct sales companies but I want to show you that I am different! I could help you a few ways one is I GUARANTEE ALL of my products if it does not work the way I tell you it should you get your money back from me no questions just good business, second I will send you free samples so you can try it before you would ever buy anything, third I promise that you will get the best service possible I own this business and this is how I support my family. You have nothing to lose also we have skin care that is comparable to high end department store. I can also set up appointments to do consultations for skin care, anti-aging, spa, and makeovers.

The products that I think work the best is Triple Glow for the Face and one for the body, and then I also have something called Leg Appeal that is a three step process to the softest legs, there is a peel that you put on at night and then in the morning in the shower you use the scrub to take off the peel and then followed by the self tanner it is awesome! If you want to try to see if you like it let me know.

I would love to help!

I'm not trying to be critical, but I would be hesitant using chemicals like that while pregnant (congratulations!). It doesn't just stay on your skin, it gets absorbed into the blood stream.
Just something to consider and/or look into.
Besides, your natural glow right now should be way better that anything in a bottle!
