What Kind/where to Buy a Bike for New 3 Year Old?

Our daughter just learned today how to pedal her tricycle. We figured she just didn't care about her bike until today. She said, "If I pedal will you get me some juice?" lol. So I said,"Yes! Let me see you pedal!" And then, BAM, she just did it! Yay! So, her 3rd b-day is Oct. 24. We want to get her a real bike. I'm just curious as to what size bike to get her. She's 38 inches tall and 34 lbs. Also, where is the best/cheapest place to get a bike? I'm thinking Walmart, but I'd love to hear otherwise. I don't want to buy this used.

What can I do next?

Wal mart has a good selection and so does babies r us. We just bought our newly 3yo daughter a bike for her birthday as well. We got one from Toys R Us for like $60. I believe it was a 16" bike with training wheels and she is 37inches and 36lbs. She is the perfect size for it. I noticed that the 12" bikes did not have real tires on them so when by the time your kid is ready to take the training wheels off you'll need a different bike but the 16" bikes have real tires on them and should last a little while past taking the training wheels off. Good luck!!

Walmart has a good selection, and they have different sized bikes you can have her sit on to make sure she can reach the pedals.

We got our son's bike for Christmas instead of his birthday, and then we looked in the papers for black Friday and found an amazing deal. A bike at Walmart that was usually around $70 was only $30. Very helpful, and he loves it.

My 3yr old son just learned to ride without training wheels on a neighbors bike. We didn't have a bike small enough for him so I went right online and searched and found a Huffy Rock It at Walmart.com. It has 12" wheels and the seat is adjustable (it also comes with a set of training wheels if you need). And unlike what another poster said, it has real tires. They have a girls version too. Best part? It was only 38 bucks! He rides like a champ! Perfect.
