Size 5 comes after.
Then 6.
After that, its 'boys' sizes. Versus Toddler.
Try Old Navy. They have skinny & husky and regular kids jeans. And with the adjustable waist.
My son is very tall but really skinny. His shorts are 6/7 with adjustable waist. He just got into kindergarten and is wearing his 5t jeans from last year and they are noticable getting shorter each day! I bought him some 6 slim off craigslist thinking they would be perfect. I bought gap, children's place, and crazy eight jeans and they are all HUGE! Am I missing a size somewhere or is he going to grow super fast one night? The shirts I buy him are all 6/7 and fit great! I take pride in my children's apprearance and he looks terrible in these jeans. Help me!

I think you missed size 5 in kids. They are bigger than the 5T.
Some brands are just too big for kids with not enough junk in the trunk. I found Children's Place to be way too much fabric. I also found this with Old Navy yoga pants (for girls). The length was right but the waist was huge. There are just some brands that are just not a good fit.
As far as girls' jeans go, I like Circo at Target. I am not sure if they have something comparable for boys. The waist adjusts and they do come in slims. They are a flattering fit for my skinny girl.
Yes try regular 5 instea of 5t..the t stands for toddler, meaning they're meant to hold "diaper butt"! I like Gap and Ralph Lauren jeans for skinny kids. Old navy sometimes, but never Gymboree.
Try a 4/5 or a 5 at Children's Place.
5 is bigger than 5T by a good bit. Sometimes size 4 is bigger that 5 as well.

You need slims. I think Sear carries them. Try a 5 or 6.
We've had good luck with the slim sized jeans at JC Penney- Sonoma brand- and Old Navy.
Hi Ejessie,
My son is the same way. I found that you can get 6 slim with adjustable waiste at Target, Walmart, Kohls and JcPenneys and they are located in the Boys section. They're all reasonably priced. I hope that this helps! Good luck!

My son is super tall too. I have to buy the 10 reg with the adjustable waist. The slim are too tight. The regs are too big. But he has to have the 10 length. Take your son to target and have him try them on. The the adjustable waist if you can. That is the only thing that saves me.
try osh kosh! they have great slim clothing. my daughter is moving into a 5 slim. i noticed with my 4 year old is that the toddler clothes have extra room for a pull up etc and are shorter in the legs. so i moved her to the little girls section so maybe try moving him to the little boys area
After 5T comes 6...I think the style jeans may make the difference in how they fit. Try Children's Place...they have adjustable waists as well as slims.
