I'm having a blue day. Combination of no sleep and long winter. What is something you do to feel better on a "blue" day??

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Ok! I was shunning a coffee trip (out of coffee at home) because of our strict budget, fancy coffee was out of the question but I figured it was ok given the situation, and GUESS WHAT!? The woman in front of me turned around and offered me the last portion of her Starbucks giftcard! It had 2.00 on it and I had exact change for the balance. I've got pandora on a custom station with the Stones (favorite band) and I'm doing a 20 minute tidy before meeting a friend for sledding with the kids. Already, this day has turned around. Thanks ladies!

All I have to say today, is thank goodness someone is feeling the same way as me. My youngest has been working on her 1 yr molars for about a month, and husband is deployed, so I am extrememly tired and quite frankly, very crabby this am. Lack of sleep is adding up. No time for naps, oldest daughter does not nap and is not old enough for time alone while I sleep.Still breastfeeding, so caffeine and I don't even mix well or that makes youngest daughter even worse. All I can say is hang in there, it'll get better. At least, that's what I keep telling myself.:)

I like to paint my toenails a funky color, something that I would NEVER wear on my fingernails. I always feel better after a workout...I love Jillian Michaels and also some of the 10 Minute Solution DVDs. Or read a magazine.

Hot tea, good book and the couch! Seriously... on a day that you can't go outside and enjoy some sunshine, I lose myself in a "classic" novel for an hour.

BLAST MUSIC! Act the fool... I put on music that my little girls like, and we dance around like lunatics while I sing and clean (whatever I'm cleaning up becomes my mircophone, and no, I am NOT the next American Idol, LOL!) I'm being productive, burning calories, and nothing puts a smile on my face faster than hearing my 3 kiddos giggling like crazy :)

Cleaning! I tackle the closets, a sock drawer, or the house. It takes my mind off what is bugging me. Playing fun, upbeat music while I am cleaning, even better.

For next time, exercise. I found that walking around or along a lake always boosted my spirits. Maybe you're near Round Lake in Eden Prairie, or a little drive to Lake Calhoun would be totally worth it. Lake Calhoun is about 3 miles around, or Lake of the Isles, which is connected by a path, is less than two miles around - plus the neighborhood is just beautiful to walk through. Then go get a cheap tea at Dunn Bros.!

Dad watch kids, me get out of house for a pedicure! I'll settle for a bubble bath and a glass of wine if I can't get out. But for day time winter frump, a little exercise, even though its that last thing you feel like doing. A real good mood changer.

I clean with great music. I turn on the bieber eith my middle and we go to town dancing. I paint or draw. I will on demend a funny movie(if we can afford it)...some days though I let mt self stay in the funk. because i know tomorrow I will wake up and hopefully the sun will shine on me a little more. Eeven if its not nice out.

Another thing I have tried is we turn up the heat and let it go on 80 ywice. then I turn heat off. we put or shorts and tanks on untill house is back to normal. but even fir an hour or two week get to pretend it nice and warm outside, my kids think it is great fun. We have had a rainy cold but not too cold winter, cold enough outside play ONLY happens if the sun is really out.

Hang in there. blue days dont last forever:)

Do you keep a journal? When I'm not too tired I end my night by journaling about my day usually excerpts of the kids adventures. I have one rule..I don't talk about the negatives! Trust me, we women never forget those but for some reason we forget our happiest moment of the day so I"ll write a funny they said or did. To answer your question when I'm having a tough day or wanting to scream at the kids I'll give myself a time out and go read a few pages it always brings me back to a happy place! Hope your day brings you smiles and zzzz's:)
