I call them old man hats but I doubt that would come up on a google search. :p
I do like that hat, just not as much as a fedora. Then again, Troy won't wear a fedora. :(
You know those hats, that kind of fit the back of men's heads, are flat on top, and have a very slight 'bill' in the front?
Nice hats, like they would wear it with a nice coat and scarf...
I'm not describing this very well :(
My husband used to have one and he lost it... he looks so handsome in that style though! I want to find him a new one but I can't think of what the damn thing's called!
THANKS LADIES, I found it :) This is going to be his Valentines day gift I think!

Irish tweed/Driver style cap?
This answer won't help you a bit, but you stirred up a childhood memory. I call it a "Frank Cooley" cap. I had one like you're describing when I was very small, maybe three years old and because it was exactly like the one Frank Cooley, THE town lawyer, crotchety old bastard for sure, wore, my family called it my "Frank Cooley" cap. I have pictures of M. in it, sitting on the back porch, smoking a pipe with my Grandpa. Or pretending to, anyway...he didn't really put tobacco in mine. :) Thanks for the memory, especially since memories have been on my mind a lot lately. Good luck finding the real answer!
I think its nice.
;)
I personally like hats. Since I was a kid, I have had all kinds.
Even many of the style you mention.
My kids have that too and so many others.
Hats are fun.
It's an Ivy cap R.. I think we have an extra one with Joe Camel on it from Camel cigarettes!
It's a gray wool....want me to check to see if we still have it? If so, I'll send it with the cross...did you find the backpack?
sounds like a tam.

Would you believe my late father wore one of those. I believe it's an ivy cap/flat cap.
Cute, I always heard those called golf hats. Who knows, I don't golf...lol.
Irish flat cap? If that's what you're talking about, I think ALL men (except my husband, oddly enough) look great in a flat cap, lol. (Well, not all. But I do love them).
My fil had one, my grandpa had one. My boys get them here and there. But I asked my husband to try Grandpa's on (so I could pressure him into wearing one)....but no. My sexy man who looks great in everything looks dorky in it. Go figure.
